Re: TV Thurs.
Ok my knitting show is over I did learn some thing always a good thing it relaxes me too. I was worrying about this that & the other thing this morning. So it was good for me to watch it.
We watched Dallas last night one of the few things we watch together.
I watched some thing on M.T.V. about crack cocaine how it got started to understand that a bit more with Iced-T [the singer] narrating it; he's on "Law and Order". I find it interesting how the show "The Closer" is going to morph in to another series with all but the lead character in it.
I took a shorter walk one mile this morning.
Glad I spiffed up the kitchen yesterday afternoon it was good to not have to fight for counter space as much this morning when h. prepped his lunch and breakfast when I made coffee.
Time for my tea and I've not done any watering yet this morning.
It's still cool out here.

Re: TV Thurs.
I don't have a TV, it died 18 years ago and I never felt like replacing it. If I had one, I would watch Big Bang Theory. I am a physicist and recognize those characters as similar to people I knew in grad school. XDH says I am Sheldon.
Yesterday, I did not check in because I had a dreadful experience with malware! The whole day was spent dealing with it! Today, I am doing a complete back up and making a system recovery disk (can't find mine).
The maids came yesterday and DD says my house no longer smells like death. She may have been imagining the smell, knowing DCat18 had died in the house, or her nose may be more sensitive than mine, but it is gone. The other 3 cats are now trying to figure out the new hierarchy now that the queen of the house is gone. I am taking DD10 somewhere this afternoon, she and her friend have to figure out where. They vetoed my suggestion, but that is ok, as long as they both agree. We may see a movie. Tomorrow, I need to get my morning act together and get DD to her daycamp earlier than I have been. They leave for a field trip at 9:00 and we have been getting in near 10:00! We have a birthday dinner to go to tonight, so I will probably get in late. I really need to wash my hair tonight, but don't need to stay up late. Oh well.

Elizabeth--I had to look up exactly what a physicist is! DDIL majored in physics, but didn't want to go to grad school. She works for a computer software company. Physics was the only course I ever had to drop in college--couldn't get past Newton's laws of motion, which was very basic, I'm sure!
Ended up taking botany instead of physics. Was much more suited to learning about roots, leaves and stems.

Re: TV Thurs.
I gave myself a sponge bath and then lay down for a few hours because I was tired after being 'up' (does sitting in a recliner count as up?!) for 3 hours.
I took a tylenol to make sure the headache didn't come back.
My tummy is sore again. So I got up after a rest and had a little bit of vegetable beef soup (I don't have any clear broths.) And some crackers and water. Really working on the water today since I may have been a bit light on it yesterday.
Harriet: I don't take probiotics. Dh does and laid in a new supply last night but they make me sick when I'm well, so there's no way you'll get me to eat them. I hate yoghurt too. If it was a pill, I'd consider it.
My blood work results have come in and it is discouraging to see the long list of results in the "outside normal limits" column. Googling doesn't look good either since being sick doesn't explain all of them.
The high ketones can be explained by the lack of food over the past few days. High WBC is to be expected, I'm sick.
The bad numbers around the liver problem markers don't appear to be as easily dismissed. But I've suspected that advil was doing something to my insides (which is why I tried to phase it out after the cruise but ended up back on it due to bleeding.) The NSAID she gave me for my bleeding upset my tummy so much, I stopped it and went back to regular advil but with this last round of headaches, I found my tummy was upset even when I took them with food. So obviously, something is happening there. I've been really good about not going over daily max but it wasn't enough, I guess.
Anyway, her parting comment of "No more Advil" to me was not out of line. And I will keep the appointment I have with her for next week, even if I'm feeling better because I want her to tell me what the results mean.

Re: TV Thurs.
Ellyphant: we also don't have cable because we are cheap!
When we added the internet to our monthly bills (back in 1997), to balance our budget, I canceled the cable and the newspaper. I was concerned about how much tv the kids were watching and then the OJ trial came on and I was overly addicted. Getting easy access to that out of the house was a good idea.
We now have Netflix which isn't near as good as the US version but still gives us access to some tv series and lots of movies.
And when there is something I want to watch, quite often I can find the series online. HBO programming is the only one that I can't access either through online or Netflix.

Well, Kathryn, if he brought you something in a form you can't take, that requires a back-to-the-drawing-board, yes.
Wish I could put my PB-8 capsules from the vitamin store into the Star Trek transporter for you. Pharmacies have several brands in pill or capsule form on their shelves. Our groceries usually have one brand or another. Phillips capsules are widely available here, if the store carries other Phillips/Bayer products, and it has 3 different strains. A pharmacist might help and steer toward his/her favorite, like Culturelle or align.
I get a cone of chocolate ice cream today. Dd13 and I are headed out on errands and the ice cream shop will be riiiight there!
How can I help it?

(Kathryn) I've heard that Advil and similar meds can do a number on your organs, liver, kidneys, etc.
OKay, I guess we are together on the GMAT road today. I am good in a crisis too, and step up to the plate whenever/wherever needed...and then I crash afterward. We all need rests sometimes.
Lilac, that is something about the school nurse. A lesson to us all.
Nancy, be thankful your DH was making his own lunch, even if he was in your way. At least you didn't have to do it.
Harriet, I have written down your suggestions. Sunflower seed oil and coconut oil topically. I'm definitely going to try something proactive in the future. After this is cleared up, I need to do something preventive.
I am doing better finally. After my long nap last eve. I went to bed late but didn't set the alarm and slept till 8:45. I ran to the bank and stopped at my favorite spot, the library, so quiet and calm. I picked up a pleasant book and sat in an easy chair and read in peaceful bliss for about an hour. My committee leader called to see how I was doing (hand) and said prayers with me. Unbelievable how much that helped too.
One LOL hanging outside, yesterday's brought in and folded up. I've been sewing. Technician was out and agreed our phone troubles are their fault and he checked a couple outside boxes before finding someone had clipped a wire at the office which connected us to the "frame" whatever that means. We now have a clear line. Yay!
DH is home today. He is king over the TV and I'm ignoring it. My favorite program is still The Waltons, though I've seen those episodes so much I no longer watch every day. I watch Ice Road Truckers every week and some History channel and too much news. I'll be glad when the elections are done, whatever the outcome. The snarkey stiff is a bit much.

Ok, I must really be sick. The one thing about socialized medicine is that when you are really sick things happen fast.
I'm being sent for a liver ultrasound and more blood work. They are faxing the requisition to me for the blood work so I can head into the city and get it done today and checking with two hospitals to see which can see me first for the ultrasound.

Back from the blood draw. Putting heat on the arm for 10 minutes prior made it a cinch.
My ultrasound is booked at ds's hospital for 3:15 on Monday. I have to fast (food and water) before hand for 8 hours. The requisition for that just arrived by fax. The doctor will have to put a rush on the results because she is headed off on holidays. Or perhaps I can convince her to have a colleague follow up.
Got a 'get well soon' card from the post mistress. Made me cry.
Dh picked up his dinner while we were out and we'll watch a tv show while he eats.

Yes I'm so glad h. makes his lunch. I used to make it every day did a blog about it then went on strike b/c it was never good enough so now when I do prep. like boil eggs up or containerize something for him to take he appreciates it. I'm just grateful he has a job to go to!
One of the yard sales is even closer this week end next door tomorrow, ack I guess I need to pick up and put stuff away in the carport. The other one is just down the street on the block behind us. The one down the street has had 'em before don't usually have much that we could use but it's fun to look and chat with neighbors a bit and gives variety to my walks.
Youngest dgd is coming tomorrow for over night I"m not sure if she's coming in the a.m. or p.m.
K in C I can't take advil either.
I watched a show I like on PBS some thing about food travels in Ireland shows farmer's markets very inspiring!
A guy I know had some one get meds. in Canada [insulin] only saved $20-$25 so that would not even pay for the trip.
Saw the news about Randy Travis wondering who's going to write about that in a song first!
