Hi to BookSaver.
I have cleared out from under the kitchen sink into a cardboard box until the men leave, and cleared off the counter, taken out trash. Dd is hopeful we can tackle some school supply shopping today but that can't happen until her Daddy is home and available here, and until I'm satisfied with the dishwasher install. I think I'm hanging on to my utensil holders - they are replacements I'd ordered so not old yet, and they might have value to me if I like them better than the new one - I thought the new utensil holder looked small in the store.
Last evening's Open House was something else. First, the high school is even bigger than I thought. I kept saying it reminded me of a college campus. There is another two-story
Her engineering instructor is very down-to-earth and vivacious, proud of some contests his previous years' classes had won. Her music teacher holds a doctorate but does not seem intimidating. We were somewhat surprised that her World History teacher is also the football coach and just put a sign-up sheet outside the locked classroom while he went to meet and greet in the gym!
I saw a lot of "Daisy Dukes" or even swimsuit-cut shorts, and dd tells me with no dress code yet at Open House, it's the only chance girls have to really show off those legs. LOL! And many girls were in full hair-twirling, lash-batting form, too. While chatting with another mother I know and her very pleasant son, a girl came running up and pretty much tackled him, obviously showing that she was used to being very physical. At one point, she nagged, "hug me back!", which he was trying hard not to do!
