Morning Y'all...

I've been up and dressed since before 7. Had my breakfast and coffee. The construction co. show up late yesterday afternoon. They worked till 8 last night. Somehow they managed to break up all the concrete...even in the dark.

Today, after setting some underground lines, the footings for the new concrete will be poured. Sweetie and I are laughing 'cause there's suppose to be 3 cement trucks all in the same culdesac pouring either footings or foundations. If they all show up at the same time its gonna be loud and busy around here.

Sweetie and I had a good laugh yesterday. There is a new house being build directly behind us and another one next to us. The house behind us is being framed....and the music was Mexican. Remember I told you I love to hear the workers sing while they work...then in the house next to us, the workers were working inside playing 80's disco music. Sweetie was outside working in the back yard being serenaded by both sides.Same thing is happening today. Now we're wondering what "our" guys might play. :D

The dogs have found all this new action quite interesting. Last night after the guys left we let them out for their nightly run. Both dogs immediately headed for the new hole in the ground. Both took time to explore. Sadie found the newly piled rocks very interesting while Willis was sticking his nose in the holes enjoying the new smells. We took them for a walk this morning because we won't be able to let them out in the backyard by themselves. The driveway gate will be open while the guys are building. Sadie wouldn't go anywhere, but I can't say the same for Willis...he has a hunting nose and once he caught scent of a rabbit, he would be gone.........

I need to make a trip to w m. May do that later this afternoon. Monday I dusted the house while talking to my mom on the phone...I was multi-tasking My laundry is done. I need to do some desk work, but will do that later as well. I want to drink a big glass of ice tea and read for an hour. I haven't picked up a book in a week. Very unusual for me. Waving Merry Wednesday to y'all. .....Cy'all alter.............

What, just one piece of wisdom? How will I choose?

I guess mine today is the oldie but goody of getting the Morning Daily Card completed well before going to computer.

However, I really got a lot more done than that today, since MDCard was accomplished by 9. It's after 12:45 and my 4th load of laundry is in the dryer, others drip-drying. A lot of laundry sorting has been accomplished, plus decision-making and donations bagged. I realized I needed to make laundry a priority when I saw dd14 floundering with the new schedule and responsibility. I will fuss, but I won't let her (literal) laundry load affect her days negatively right now.

Got a little sun. I guess that's all my accomplishments - gee laundry can be time-consuming!

Next Ups -
Am hungry, since breakfast was fruit. So next up needs to be lunch. I think I'll put tuna over a big salad.
Dd14 said last night, "If you were to make egg salad, I sure would eat it for lunches." So that will be another nice occupation for me later today. Her lunch friend with the big spread every day has been having egg salad, and I guess it looks better than hers! :)

Last evening I participated as assistant while HRH got our yard mowed. His "next up" when he gets a chance needs to be the other house's yard.

Dee - when you say paper do you mean newspaper-shaped/sized? Actually, just thinking this through has given me some tray/bin ideas for fridge that could help us, so thanks.

Cowinkie, I'd imagine you have a large concrete-pour company there with smart dispatch aware of all the jobs, so it may all be well coordinated, or they may use the same load for 2 things. Have fun seeing it all come together.

Hello Dear Ladies,

Sliding in here slightly after noon.

Happy Birthing Day/ Birthday to Harriet and Dson.

I got the bathrooms cleaned and floor mopped today. 8-)

I don't have any words of wisdom today.

Work day for me, going to exercise, shower and chill out for a little while.

Great Day to all!

My words of wisdom for today are provided by Maxine....

My idea of a Super Bowl is a toilet that cleans itself. ;)

I sure like that wisdom, Cowinkie.

My wisdom is this, do not let your house dissolve into chaos. It is much harder to get it back up than to just keep it there all along.

I went to church to do a mailing. I dropped books at the library on the way back and picked up a couple more. Came home to DH searching diligently all over for some pictures he'd taken (and I'd never seen) for the inspector. After a long long time, we have determined they are forever lost and deleted from the camera. Huge mess. Will have to open up a wall to show inspector the screws.

DH remarked that it is chaos around here. And this is the guy who does not want his papers organized into folders, etc. sigh...

And I am not feeling well again, still, yet,.

I did get some paperwork done and emailed away. And a dpc made. I'm going to eat lunch and hide in a corner somewhere with my book.

((Harmony)) How much of this do you believe is due to the meds? They were supposed to stay in your system for 3 weeks or so, right? I wonder if you can expect welcome improvement when they are clear.

Sadie it is Kathryn who is having a birthing day today, and headed to a party - fun!

Most of our birthdays for children, grandchildren and even children-in-law are over for the calendar year. But over 3 consecutive days late in the fall we have 3 birthdays - dstepdil, dsonil and dstepson. I was thinking what fun to have a party for them all together if it is possible - not a big deal but something for each in some funny/special cake plan. Hmmm... ... dsonil isn't supposed to have sugar, he's on Atkins, but there are recipes. Will have to think about this. So close to Thanksgiving it's a little complicated.

I'm awake again! Dh is making me french toast for lunch.

I did shut down the computer and went and got dressed. Finished up at 12:30 and thought I should nap until 1. You can all guess how that went! I sort of woke up when the clock struck 2 and dragged myself out of bed 12 minutes later.

BTW: despite being under lots of covers and with a heating pad, my temperature after the nap was 97.3, my 'normal.' Most readings over the past three days have been under 98 so I'm slowly getting over the 'fever' sign of my illness.

I'm postponing going to go sew for as long as I can. I was able to get the skirt of the daybed all pressed and sewed the cording onto it. But when I pinned it to the daybed cover - it is about 4 inches too long. Because I am matching stripes - I have to take it apart and start all over making some of the pleats deeper. Very very bummed.

Feeling like I'm stalled. . . I got the laundry dried, folded, and half put away. I tracked down and rejoined the professional organization I used to belong to when I worked. I got ds to look at his account and paid the great U for ds' semester. People just came by to pick up our grill to be used for a bbq put on by a Christian campus group (the one dfriend S leads) this evening. I've been helping ds with his phone account number as he is transferring to another carrier. . . . He gave them the wrong account number. He is so smart yet so. . . .. .

Dd14's world history + geog. teacher emailed the parents today with a test email of his parent communications system. This is the same teacher with the hyper web-site. I guess he's a little hyper in general? I have high hopes of him now! :)

Off to make sure ds has found the correct account number. Then, on to the car wash.

Good afternoon, all!

Groceries put away. School had just let out as I was leaving the store. Traffic was horrendous (for here). On the plus side, I couldn't turn where I wanted to, so discovered a new way home!

Love this cool, fall-like weather we have today. Fall has always been my favorite time of year. Open windows and fresh air!

DH and I may watch The Hunger Games tonight as that is one of the movies I got at library. Except I don't want to miss Paul Ryan's speech tonight. TV has suddenly gotten a lot better this week.
