First I want to say I think my hormones were showing this morning, and I apologize
Thank you for sharing how/why about lists. This past week my lists are getting done because Dh is on vacation and he is a very very BO person, and would be having fits if I did not know what we are doing next as far as the Fall cleaning, for him not knowing would be wasting time.
Am I a BO person   no way, once he goes back to work you will see how bad I can be even with my detailed l``ts
Right now he is heading to the hardware store, then to Subway for our lunch.
My Big Ta Da is the twins closet is done and I Love having the closet system, they will be able to find things so much easier..doing Happy Dance :D
Going to refresh my tea and sort the mail.
Have a Good Day
Oh..if you want to talk sports, I am a:
Big Missouri Tiger's fan..Miz-Zou
StL Cardinal and Blues..like but not upset if I miss a game or if they lose.

Dh has finally left for his office. And now dd16 will be home in about 45 minutes.

That email message made me feel sad about losing Indiana too.

You sound like me, Bernice! I need lists too! BWTG on getting the closet system set up. I'm SO glad you're still here. :) Honestly, I find your lists spur me on to make my own lists. Somehow, lists work better for me than the cards -- but I think my cards are a bit unrealistic right now and I need to revamp them. I personally think there is an art to list-making; sometimes, my own lists just cause me to feel discouraged or overwhelmed. I need to break big tasks down into doable chunks.

Today:
x a.m. routine
x towels folded and put away
/ work on (very short) devo. to share with moms group leaders tomorrow - only worked on it mentally; need to write down. Needs to be kept very short since one mom will need to leave 45 minutes into the meeting. Maybe I should skip it?
/ - many DPCs; I keep putting these off - 2 down, 3 tasks done
-exercise - dh and I are going jogging at 4
-some house tidying -- I'll post specifics as I go along
x 2 bathrooms spiffed
-work in ds' room: finish the bookshelf
-get moms group binders organized - this year and last year's
-perhaps, transfer info to my NEW calendar. :)
-make dinner: chicken cacciatore, salad, bread in breadmaker
-host dinner crew here tonight

Hmmm... that doesn't look like much progress . . . .However, I will venture onward!! I am feeling quite tired, however. Either, I'll try a cat nap OR I'll try some caffeine.

Breadmaker needs to be started around 3 pm. I'm meeting dh to jog at 4.

Bernice: one of the advantages of the SHE system is that it taught me to time my chores because I have a poor sense of time and knowing something only takes 15 minutes makes it more likely I'll do it. Anyway, that is a blessing in my current condition, when I may only have a couple of 15 periods in a day where I'm strong enough to do housework but know if I start something like the upstairs vacuuming, it won't push me beyond that limit.

What is amusing is that when I share this people, they get hung up on the fact that I timed my chores before I was sick. The idea of timing chores never crossed their minds. For me, it was how I managed to keep house reasonably well.

Hotmail appears to be down today. I picked a bad day to send out a mass email. I'm one of the people who hasn't received the email directly yet. Same thing happened with another one I sent to the moderators so I need to figure out if the software knows I'm sending the email, so doesn't send me a copy, or if there is another issue.

Edited to add: Maybe I did get it. There are two messages in the SHE inbox that should have been forwarded to me and two in my inbox so I assumed they were one and the same. But apparently one of the two in my inbox was the one the system sent to me as a SHE board user. I'm confused.

What I need to do is go to bed. Dinner is planned, the kitchen is tidied up from lunch and breakfast (and snacks last night) and the generator guy is paid and gone. No need to be up right now.

Dozed off and on but couldn't really sleep. I'm trying some caffeine -- hope it will be OK with exercising happening in less than an hour.

One more phone call, so I'm done with those for the day. Dd16 is home.

Next:
-start breadmaker
-tidy living areas
-make sure chicken is thawed
-dice garlic and onions for dinner prep

Taking a break.

Cowinkle - Bless your heart. What a wonderful show of support for DFriend serving overseas. Wondering if the marshmallow will melt in transit? I've heard to package things with thought of it surviving several weeks in transit at 120°F+ temperatures.

I believe P&P used list too when they switched to planner style SHE system. I love all forms of SHE methods and switch as needed. Today is the 446th day I've been using my current method (spreadsheet style......which would probably be classified as list system on steroids

I'm home from errand/shopping trip! I first went to the post office & had a large envelope from Passport Processing -we only sent dh's application in a week ago, so I immediately thought, "Oh Oh, what did we forget?" Opened it to a letter saying dh NEVER signed it. Came back home, had him sign and returned to the post office to re-mail it. Priority mail, delivery confirmation!!

From there went to $ General to pick up birthday cards for dgks and a quick (low cal) snack since I hadn't eaten since breakfast and knew it would be some time getting home. Picked up Q uaker popcorn snacks -only 140 cal for 18 so that was good and very little sugar.

then went to grocery store to buy meat for the weekend, then to W mart for the rest of my shopping. I was totally drained by the time I finished that. Came home and put EVERYTHING away and now am taking a break -where else, but in SHEville? :P

When is your appointment, Harmony? You do have us concerned you know.

Yes, Kathryn, it was me that touted Vitamin D for lower BS. Have no idea what's happened lately -except my diabetes medication changed -used to take 2 (5mg) in the morning and again at night. Insurance (what else!) would no longer cover that and had to go to a 10mg of supposedly same medication in the morning and at night. I really do not like this med. It's hard to get down and seems more 'powdery'. Will ask Dr. about it when I go. My sugar has been so under control and good numbers until the last few weeks. I'm cutting back on eating as much as I can and I still seem to get higher numbers. Eliminating any bread now to see if that helps.

I rearranged my day....needed to run some errands. Was able to purchase the 3x4 foot bulletin board that i was looking for. That will go in my office. One of my new hobbies is photography. I wanted the board so I could print and then view my work. Sometimes I like what I see and sometimes I change my mind after looking at a picture for a while. I don't want to frame something that I don't love.

This must be my lucky day. First I received a paint sample packet with what appears to be a out 500 colors. I want to paint accent walls in several of my rooms for several years. I knew what colors I wanted, but could find them. I did today and though one is green and the other blue, they were both on the same samlpe stick. Then I turned on Hsn and saw some dishes inthe color I was looking for....gold, black and white. In addition there was a wall mirror that I've been trying to find for two years. Then I went to the store and found two ceramic pots for plants for $3 each. Went to Normas favorite girlie store and with my reward card got $135 of merchandise for $28 bucks. Went to Rosses after that and found the exact dress I've been envisioning .....navy crochet over navy slip dress for $25. And then found a black sleeveless stretchy dress for $6 bucks....yep you read this right. I will save the navy dress for our anniversary. This NEVER happens to me. Must be my lucky day....Perhaps I should buy a lottery ticket ;)

Dinner is cooked for Sweetie and crispy treats are in the pan cooling. Think I'll just sit back and take time to enjoy my day... Mamapiano you're right....I'm lovin being retired. It was worth all my hard work and penny savings. For once I got it right.

This is my 3rd attempt at posting! I had my interview this morning. What a disappointment. They want ME to pay THEM. They are like an advertising agency for job candidates. No thanks, I am trying to economize! I got to eat lunch with a friend and am now working at payroll. That's right, I have a task at payroll that will actually pay me. Thank goodness. It won't last long, but it is progress.

I can tell you are enjoying your retirement, Cowinkie!

My Dr. apt. is the 12th. I actually have 2 that day.

Some of the office closet is cleaned out. A good bit of it is organized. The hard part is I went out into hot garage and dug into the trunks out there and found the one year I can throw away / shred now. Brought that in and took care of that. I put one more year out there. I keep 2 in the office and 8 out in the trunks. Then when I get rid of a year I keep tax info, our ledger work and throw all the individual receipts away. I shred anything with an account # or SS # on it. Takes a while. 2 big bags into the garbage outside. Also a broken calculator.

Continuing until DH is home for dinner.

Oh, Elizabeth, I'm so sorry that was not an actual job. I do wish they hadn't misled you about it.
