At this point I suspect I'll be resting a lot tomorrow, but I'll try and do the treadmill and put in at least a mile.
On Thursday Friday after I loaded the pedometer app on my phone, it recorded ~850 steps for the day but that didn't include 1 km on the treadmill.). Yesterday was ~2800 (not including the mile on the treadmill because my workout clothes don't have a pocket for my phone.) Most of those were after my nap (back and forth to set the table and around the kitchen - my kitchen is has too many steps between the fridge/sink/stove to be efficient.) Today, I'm at 10294.
I'm pretty sore and tired. Still have to hang up a load of laundry to dry and then I'll go to bed.
Helia Yes ds trained. Basically, when he decided to do this last May, he'd never jogged before. So learning to run was the first step and then running more than walking each time out was the second step. He had a training program he followed pretty well and I bought him proper shoes (early birthday present) early in the process. He didn't get as many runs in July as he should have because of the heat (and corresponding weather advisories not be active outside.) So he felt he hadn't done enough, but he did run almost every day on holiday and by late August had his first 10 mile run. His training program never took him over 10 miles - Jeff (the friend who put him put up to all this) told him the adrenaline of the day would carry him the last 3 miles. Which it did and he had energy to spare so ran the last 300 m at full tilt.
Dfs, didn't train at all in July due to an injury and gets shin splints so didn't run any distances at all. Eventually, Jeff came up with a 750m sprint program for him to do (walking, then sprinting.) But none of us were sure he'd finish and he did quite well. Not The Girlfriend only ever intended to walk and she completed it but was quite a long time doing so. She has a chronic illness and had no energy to draw upon so did very well considering. Jeff's wife was the last one to finish of the group and she was a good 30 - 45 minutes behind Not The Girlfriend. By then, we were all 200 m from the end and Jeff, ds and a couple of the others ran the last bit with her. Apparently, killing Jeff was her motivation for the last 3 miles (her father-in-law was a medic on a bike and checked in on her frequently, then came to let us know Jeff was going to be hit when she finally caught up with him.)

Glad to hear the half-marathon turned out so well for everyone, Kathryn! I think they all did GREAT!
(((Harriet))) Glad to hear it was such a minor fender bender, but sooo sorry you had to deal with this at all!
All you runners (and walkers!) are making me think I really should try to fit in some exercise before bedtime... but there is plenty other stuff that has to be fitted in, also... so... we shall see.
Sorry y'all are having to deal with all the smokey air, Nancy!
I missed the problem w/the printer, scattered, but I'm glad it's fixed. Computer problems of any type just drive me nuts!
I joined Twins w/a nap... and also today, I have
* s/s two bathrooms (that reminds me, I should check on what used to be ds's bathroom -- toilet in there is never used, but needs flushing & swishing every-so-often anyway)
* s/s dh's shower stall
* watered plants
* washed three loads of clothes
* stripped master bed (sheets in dryer now)
* took allergy shots
* dusted den &dusted/swept away spider webs, etc. from back entry area outside
* visited dmil w/dh
* went to Wmart & put away groceries w/dh
* delivered supper to ddil w/dh (dgs was sleeping; ds is out of town till later tonight)
EEEK! Ivy said the C word: Christmas! Eeek! Wmart already has CHRISTMAS trees up! EEEK!!! Oh my goodness.
I think Harriet already whispered that word earlier... * sigh * Only three months from tomorrow will be Christmas Eve, right? * whew *
DH doesn't want me to start shopping until after ds's birthday, ususally... which is Oct. 20... and I never have any free weekends before then, anyway, so it's fine... but goodness... it seems to come quicker every year!!!
And really, Sadie... it is ridiculous to see Christmas trees before Halloween, don't you think, LOL? (I know you're not in charge, of course!) But the holidays just overlap sooo much in retail, it seems.
Waving again to MT... and Norma, sher, Kally... and everyone I may have missed today! You are all in my thoughts sooo often!
Still would like to
* put sheets back on bed
* exercise
* s/s kitchen
* grade some papers

Re: SUNNY SUNDAY
DH just called (10:25) to tell me they were getting gas in Dansville, NY (about 50 miles from us). Told me to meet them at DS-R's house (that's another 9 miles or so 1 way). He wants to help him get backed in and unloaded so DDIL#1 and DGS7 can get inside and get off to bed. School day & work tomorrow for all of them. DH wants to stop and take a shower when we get back here. So it will be well after midnight before we get to the RV.
Been working on a print out of 'days' for dh as he prepares to do things here and for the campground. Have a separate box for each day -with 2 columns -one for here & 1 for GP. Thought maybe he can glance at it and tell when he has something coming up -like an appointment, a winterizing for an RV, or whatever. Used a separate sheet for each week. Made a separate l&&t of things that need to be assigned a date. Did it in such a way that he can add to it and then I'll just type things in as we go and can print off new ones as he writes in things.
Been talking to a neighbor this afternoon about their wi-fi card that plugs into an electrical plug. Looks about the size of a cassette tape. Thinking that may work better for us in the long run on the road and for all our wi-fi 'things'. (Phone, wii, laptop, K indle F ire, my k indle, printer). That way I shouldn't have problems getting internet when we're traveling. I'd given up trying hotel internet and a little afraid to use it anyway. So we'll see. PLUS I'm pretty 'fed-up' with our cable company. Know we'd end up paying more per year. I just can't figure out what we need. Our phone is A T & T and can't seem to find what they have or what they charge monthly. I'll see............
Remembered it was ds-R & DDIL's anniversary on Friday. Picked up a card for them when I was out today. Ended up getting the same card for DS-A & DDIL#2's anniversary next month. They 'officially' got married on 10-10-10 but were actually married a few months before that. No one knew except DS-R & his wife. I don't think much of anyone knows that fact yet. DS-A told me at their reception while we were dancing. This will be the last year anyone will be able to get married with all the numbers the same (12-12-12).

Re: SUNNY SUNDAY
Think I'll start getting ready to leave. Have to get dh's shower stuff together to take to the car and have a couple of things to bring in from there. Figure they're about 1/2 way home by now from last call. Have to really watch for deer so have to take my time going anyway. It's a good 30-35 minute drive in daylight so best be off.
Have a good night everyone. It's no longer
sunny -at least on our side of the world.

Re: SUNNY SUNDAY
Have a safe drive, Dee! Oh, and congrats to dgs -- I saw where you said he had a great day w/the race.
I haven't seen any deer around here lately, but y'all know how I complained about never having seen a coyote? Well... they are coming closer! Last night/this morning @ 1:30 a.m., when we got home, there was a coyote running across our pasture, and tonight, on the way to Wmart, there was one standing right beside the 4-lane highway in the middle of a business/residential area! Now that was kinda too close for comfort -- I mean, it was only about 8:00 p.m. If they are that close to those houses, I know they are close to mine!
