RE: Holiday meals. I think we did the best - we moved away from all of them.

I was VERY hurt our last Christmas at our house as DD's in-laws insisted that they have their usual Christmas with them. I only was able to see her for a few hours and not for a meal. The same thing happened a few years later when we drove for 2 days from Texas to spend Christmas with the kids. This time both DD's were at the in-laws. I vowed never to spend Christmas with them again.

We have Christmas with our RV family - we have a wonderful time, spoil any grandchildren that show up and (sometimes) talk to our kids via phone or skype. It is fine - - as I have decided not to let it bother me.

We will see what happens in 2014 as it will be our 50th anniversary and I have already told them that we are flying all of them out to be with us on that Sunday. They can come on Friday and go home on Monday - but I want that Sunday!!

What a day... just can't believe you are still having to do this back & forth limbo thing, OKay!!! (((BIG HUGS)))

Too tired to post more.
Glad I don't have fireants in the house. (We have plenty outside, but none inside, so far, thank goodness!)
Long day... looks like a longer night...
I am exhausted. I think I have PMS, maybe.

Enjoyed reading all of your posts... just too wiped out to respond.

Sooo good to see kbeans!!!

Hope y'all have a good night!
Tomorrow is another day.

Returned from Indianapolis at noon today. Had a wonderful (very short) time with our friends we met in AZ 2 winters ago. They came to see us last September so it was our turn. Mr. Guy was absolutely thrilled to see the Indy Museum and ride around the track on a bus listening to the Indy history. (Sweetie can expect a little gift from Mr. Guy's visit to that fantastic museum.)

'I had OKay's court date on my calendar so got right online to find out how it went. How disappointing to find this whole deal is still in limbo. (((OKay and family)))

(((Emptynester))) It infuriates me that people are so blind and uncaring that they can't learn to share the kids. I feel very bad when things like this happen to good people. I remember that happening before.

I have much to do - unpack, etc. etc. so will sign off for now.

Have done a few things in Indianapolis too, Norma. Fascinating city. Drove around the speedway but didn't go to the museum. Bet dh would love that. DBFF and I went to the Children's Museum there -wonderful! Did some other site seeing things as well. I was actually "his" secretary, but she and I have remained close over 35 years. They'll be coming here on Sunday -can't wait! I'm trying to find a picture of our youngest DS-A and dShelley with their 2 boys when our 2 were probably about 7 and 4. Want to make a copy for dfriend. I've had it a few times this summer and since dbil/dsil were here I've misplaced it. :? It's somewhere here within 400 square feet.

Somehow I lost a lot of that post and just noticed the end of the last sentence had also disappeared.

(((OKay))), I've been Thinking of You today.

(((Emptynester))), Sometimes the holidays can be the pits, but it sounds like your RV family is chosen fun family to be around, too.

I crocheted too much on the afghan today, so my left elbow hurts and I'm right-handed. :?:  Am taking a break from it tonight.

I got 4 letters today, got in a one hour nap, worked too much this morning, plus walked and wore myself out.

Norma, It's nice to "meet" you. I'm new here.

Lucylee, Sorry you're too tired to post more. I'm sure glad you don't have fireants in the house, too! My gosh. That would be uncomfortable to get bitten.

Nancy, I'm glad you got permission. It's cute dgd asked if you had first, too.

I've been trying to figure out what 3D's meant, but I think I've finally "gotten" it. The 3 Dailies? Meaning routines? Am I right? :?:

Cowinkie, That sounds like a cute card. I need a Fairy Godmother to bee-bop me back 20 years so I have more energy!

Harriet, Does Desk Day at work make your day longer? DD must be so proud her Engineering Project got a perfect score! Congratulations to her!

Harmony, Is the big family trip on Christmas Day a for sure thing at this point or was it just brought up as a possibility? :?:

Scattered, What's Head Banging on Saturday night mean? :?: Did you bump heads with someone? It doesn't sound fun. I hope you get a good rest.

OHHHHhhhhh..... 1- Dishes, 2- Duds, 3- Dinner = the 3 D's! I finally figured it out!

Helia, Is studying Hebrew hard?

I'm off to write a letter during the news and to plan out dinner. Everybody have a really nice evening. :D

Hi everyone. I read about Jesus healing a paralyzed man last night and I realized I have been paralyzed by fear in my job hunt. I am praying for a healing from that sort of paralysis. Tonight I am staying late at payroll because there is work to be done and I can actually get paid for it. I also need to make up some hours. After DD10 left yesterday, I did financial chores like pay bills, transfer money, and update Quicken. Tonight I need to recalculate my child support payments and get that changed. Also need to go to grocery store and pharmacy. I would like to balance my checkbook, but doubt there will be time. Saturday my XDH took DD10 to the state fair. My friend (X-friend? his date?) also went and she did not have her son that day so it was not a play date. If they are going to date, I wish they wouldn't take DD with them. Her XDH and I took his son and my daughter to a Renaissance Fair on Sunday and they did NOT get along that day. This was definitely not a date, I have never seen him except for at kids' activities in the company of both the children. I wonder if they are not getting along because of the situation between her dad and his mom.

I have been thinking of OKay and the FIVE people I know who were scheduled for surgery today. Mom is fine, my brother's ex-FIL is doing well, one friend was rescheduled due to a cold, and I have not (and don't expect yet) to hear about the other two friends.

scattered: what does POOF stand for?

It is now 6:00 and I have another hour I should work. Boring tedious document evaluation. But I am getting paid so I like it. Next month and the rest of the year, it is back to no paycheck. I have no idea what dinner will be, I have kept up with dishes, and I won't have time to do a LOL.

Elizabeth, Poof! is when one is leaving!

OKay, I echo all that has already been said. I can't believe that this is still hanging over your family. I agree with Harriet's analysis elsewhere that it makes LO staying with you much more certain, but gee - why can't the court system get on with it?

Long day at work today and fairly productive - to dentist for teeth cleaning also. This afternoon we got counter offer back which we will accept. Then realtor friend reminded me there's also the home inspection (yikes!) appraisal and their financing as hurdles.

After work I got some groceries and picked up meds for dMacs and made a batch of Oatmeal Cranberry white chocolate cookies. I have to say they're not as good as I had hoped they would be, but they will do for people who have fasted all day on Wednesday. Also have walked ddogs.

Someone asked about three Ds - they are dishes, duds (meaning laundry) and dinner.

Dh is bowling tonight. I am going to head off to bed to read.

Ivy - I went to a hard rock concert Saturday night... hence the Head Banging and yes back in my teens and 20's (the 80's & 90's) I was into seriously hard rock i.e. Meta llica, AC / DC, Motor head.

So all my plans for the night went out the door...

I managed to get dinner made which included making a batch of homemade Teriyaki Sauce from scratch which is yummy. 2/3's is now in the freezer and 1/3 is in the fridge. :D

Now watching Bones. 8-)

My accomplishments for the day:

1. S2s including shaving my legs and rinsing my hair with apple cider vinegar instead of conditioner (a practice I highly recommend because, at least in my case, it leaves my hair feeling fabulous and more manageable.)

2. Accepted 5 more things for the silent auction on the weekend.

3. Heated up and ate soup for my lunch.

4. Watched dh and music director practice. Learned the song she'll be singing with dh so I can sing it with him while he's practicing.

5. Napped for 3 hours.

6. Had dh order pizza for dinner.

7. Watched tv while we ate.

8. Talked for an hour with a friend on the phone.

Dh is watching a movie now. I've had bad cramps and aches all evening but I need to get moving and at least strip and remake the bed. And possibly start some laundry (although that may have to be put off unless I plan to stay up until the washer is done.)

So far today, I've walked no more than 1500 steps, probably closer to 1200 because the pedometer isn't accurate on stairs and I have a split level house.

Elizabeth, your mother had surgery today? I'm so glad she's doing well. I absolutely know there are things in my life that paralyze me sometimes.

Ivy, I don't work outside the home. When I mention eldercare it is about my ddad94 who now lives in our home and needs someone here all the time.

((Kathryn)) Cramps and aches? I'm hoping you mean time of month rather than more symptoms of fatigue. Or is it because you increased your activity yesterday? Thanks for the review of apple cider vinegar!

they're not as good as I had hoped they would be, but they will do for people who have fasted all day on Wednesday

I may remember that sentiment the next time I bake! Sometimes my baking needs an explanation... ... or disclaimer.

Norma, I'm so glad Mr. Guy got to ride around the track and have a tour. Very cool.

Sleep well tonight, lucylee.

Have a lovely morning, Lynlee.
