Dee:
1. I have an app on my phone that tells me how much battery is left, the condition of the battery and how much of the energy was used on which applications. A number of apps kept running even when I'd turn them off so I deleted those in order to save battery.
2. You asked this morning (or last night) if I was going on a cruise. Not me, Cathy, but I'm leaving for a 5 day trip on Thursday. I was saying that a 21 day trip can be done with one suitcase and I think Cathy is going on a cruise.
Thanks for keeping quiet during my nap. Can you stop phone calls for me too, please?
Ds and dfs called to set up dinner and Presbytery called to get me to join a committee. But the person couldn't tell me what the committee did. So someone else will call me with details. I've been avoiding committee work by working on the Resource Centre but I may have to give that up at some point. Not sure this is a good fit for me though. Finance might be better although I don't want the responsibility.
I slept for at least 5 minutes and was quiet for 75 minutes. Had lots of energy in the early evening but forgot to put on the pedometer so have no idea how many steps I walked through the IKEA and 3 other stores. Also did the banking. So successful evening out except I forgot to look at my list when I was in the dollar store.
One disadvantage to having satellite in the car is that I was listening to US election coverage (I'm a junkie) and so missed the news that our premier resigned unexpectedly and shut down the provincial parliament. This is a BIG story.
So I'm off to bed now and will listen to the news on the TV as I get ready.

Re: Monday Mayhem
I have uploaded a resume to a staffing company. Job hunting is so discouraging. I have also made tomorrow's lunch and scooped catboxes. Today was grocery store day and I found I now need three 60 W light bulbs. I am not going back until tomorrow. I am going to watch a mindless episode of Hogan and crochet on my sweater.

Dee, At Debbie Macomber's site, under "Recipes" under "Desserts" I've got "Pumpkin Gingersnap Dessert" and under "Salads" I've got "Mandarin Salad", which is also good for diabetics, too.
Lucylee, I have things having to do with my job on green for green $$.
When I read how a green card can be used for earnings, finances, a job or savings, etc.. Green for money made an impression on my brain.
Helia, That's great that you got your taxes off today.
WTG!
Harriet, Are you sick?
OKay, That's so funny about concrete blocks for your birthday. What are you building?
I got 4 loads of laundry done today. I read on a book, paid for a workshop, and need to go send off for writer's guidelines from a magazine. The market book states one payment for a short story, but my 1 - 2 year old writer's guidelines says something else.
I don't know which is correct.
DH is watching the baseball play-offs, I need to go hunt up my old cards, from 3 file boxes, and then break the house into zones. My zones are different than FlyLady's zones, but they're zones which fit our house. I'll work on those cards today and tomorrow.
I didn't get my walk in, but walked plenty with the laundry.
Not feeling 100% the past couple of days. Sinuses act up and FM pain (fibromyalgia), so I just deal with it with medications. I wonder if the change in weather and/or stress has something to do with it?
Oh, well. Tomorrow's a new day. Right?
Have a great night, Everybody!
And I'm waving to those whom I've not mentioned.

Re: Monday Mayhem
*sigh* My feet are killing me, and dd is still doing her homework! (Yeah, that would be 10:20 pm Eastern time!)
Maybe I can discuss it with the school psychologist tomorrow -- someone from her staff (she's not just the school psychologist but a specialist in gifted kids, so she has a separate office and a staff not at school) called to set up an appointment with me. I'm presuming this is about dd -- I've been meaning to contact her re dd, and the e-mail I've been writing has been growing steadily.
I mentioned at p/t conferences that I was hoping to speak to the psychologist & get dd seen, and the teachers told me (upper-grade conferences were with the entire teaching team for that group!) that she had been seeing Dr. R. already. I'm a bit embarrassed that this appointment is at the psychologist's instigation and not mine, but whatever will help dd.
Of course, it's not entirely dd's fault that she's running so late -- she had hockey practice today, and DH and I both got hung up a bit after practice & so got home a good :15-:20 later than we should, as well. OTOH, during the :20-:25 minutes that I was out delivering flyers, she did three English questions that weren't even really questions, just sentences to proofread, and she's good at those. There's no reason she should be taking 7 or 8 minutes to do a single one.
So, after picking up the kids, I did get those flyers delivered -- by myself, while they did homework, which is probably the primary reason my feet are killing me now -- all the up and down people's front steps. On the bright side, I will surely hit 10,000 steps today -- I'm close enough that heading up to bed will put me over!
I'm currently at 20/27 cards completed, 1 deferred.
I keep thinking I should tuck some emergency lunch supplies (cheese crackers, juice box) at the bottom of my girls' backpacks, Harriet, but have I done it? No. Glad a fast-food trip perked your DD right up!
I hope the phone's OK, Dee.
I was the one who asked, Twins. 2011 return? Is this a case of "the shoemaker's children"? (perhaps I should duck and run???) Glad the vet is interested in finding out what's up with Macs, even if your visit did take a while.
As for the thank-you notes, if DH and DMIL keep insisting you could do them, remind them that they could do them just as easily!
Oh, my, that is big news, Kathryn! What over? (I presume there was a reason for the sudden resignation.)
(((Elizabeth & job search)))
dd is finally almost done. *sigh* Going to do a quick tidy & go to bed.
Oh! Almost forgot! If you haven't checked out today's G oogle doodle, you must do so! Very, very elaborate tribute to Winsor McCay's "Little Nemo in Slumberland." Click on the little tab at the bottom right of each section -- you may have to use a computer; DH's i Pad showed a much simpler doodle.
Heading to bed -- see you tomorrow!

My late DMIL asked for things like a roll of insulation or a yard of dirt, OKay, but never, to my knowledge, concrete blocks!OKay wrote: I might be the only female in the world who asks for concrete blocks for her birthday.

Re: Monday Mayhem
Note my editing to my earlier post... I am making progress...
DS just called, wanted dh to babysit tomorrow during the day, so they could go shopping! What is up with that? Sounds like a good time to write thank you notes if you ask me.
Hmmm... I don't recall anyone ASKING me, of course.
DH had to decline -- he is committed to playing golf tomorrow. He will be keeping dgs Wednesday, however, while ds goes to sing at a nearby nursing home.
Mystery, dh would probably help write the notes, actually, but oh my goodness... his handwriting is TERRIBLE. Likewise dmil -- remember -- dsisil & I had to write all HER thank you notes after dfil passed away.
* sigh *
QUESTION -- Do y'all think it would just look really bad if I DID just write them and get it done?
Could I do it and just sign their names? There are people who would instantly recognize my handwriting, but would that be okay? Maybe they would simply realize that the new parents are overwhelmed?
OR would I have to write in this tone -- "John & Mary truly appreciate your sweet gift. Baby Johnny is enjoying the lovely blanket... etc... etc... Thank you so much, Lucy"
Ivy -- have you looked at our focus zones here? DIndiana set this up for us several years ago. It spreads things out more so than Flylady, but we get through the entire house three times a year, I think, with the the last "quarter" being used for holiday preparations and maintenance.
Ha ha ha. I say "We get through the year" just like I am actually following this plan. That is a laugh. * sigh *
I DREAM of following the plan.
Of course, one of dIndiana's main "rules" was that the plan had to fit yourself; you can't expect to follow someone else's routine; it has to be YOURS. So whatever fits your house is what will work best for you.
Hope you feel better tomorrow, too!

Re: Monday Mayhem
We had the gal deliver the newest chicks teenagers tonight she was very impressed with our setup! Yea! The new ones snuggled in 3 on each side of the older hens on the roost so all is well.
Having a bit of mayhem with the cave TV h. lucked out Mon. TV sucks for me. It's raining so might be that no sound on the one down stairs. It was fine this afternoon so not sure what's up with that.
You gals were busy today.
I got the trash dumped and the carport cleaned up some more, and spiffed the patio, raked more leaves up.
Got the laundry for h.'s work clothes done.
