Re: Terrific Tuesday
Just wanted to give Harmony & Sunny a 'heads up', should you choose. DD's class and she were interviewed for about an hour today for Channel 13 -My Fox Tampa Bay news. Kids and she should be on -from a school in Lakeland. Will try to pick it up on my computer or phone later.

Re: Terrific Tuesday
Oh, Dee, I wish I could get that. With my cable I am purchasing local stations also, but those are from a big city south of us and they don't carry any of those stations. Drat! When we had a tower 50' in the air and an omni-directional antenna, we used to get Tampa stations, sometimes when the weather was weird we'd get over your way and some of the east coast too. I miss that. Sunny gets it though, if it's part of her cable package.
I am struggling again. If I didn't know better I'd think I backslid. Maybe the B12 shot wore off? Does it do that? Starting Sunday afternoon I started to go downhill and now I am so tired I'm having problems staying awake.
Late last eve. DH told me he had an extra helper working today and they were in a place with no lunch available so I had to make lunches for them. DGD is being awfully good about her naps and going to sleep at night and not getting up before 8 AM, but still it's a struggle. I found an old tape of a movie she likes and put that on this morning while I was doing other things. Then we went to the grocery store and she was good and stayed in the cart for me, but carrying her in and then all the groceries...whew I am exhausted.
A little disappointed I'm not doing any better than this. Wonder how I'm going to manage if I never get any better. Kathryn, do you ever think about this?

Re: Terrific Tuesday
Oh, ((((Harmony)))) hate to think of you feeling like this! How much longer do you have dgd? Know that has to be a mixed blessing right now. I think B-12 might wear off -can you talk to the Dr's office to find out? What about the thyroid -were you supposed to start on something -or did you? Praying both you and Kathryn will continue to feel better and regain some of that energy. Will be praying for you.
I can't get it on TV either, Harmony, but am hoping to get something via my computer or my phone. I have the app for that.
Took the van in and it needed a new wheel bearing on the rear passenger side NOT the driver's side. I could have sworn the sound was from behind me on that side. He took it for a test drive before and after, ordered a part, the part was delivered and I was out of there in 50 minutes!! Even went down the street to the local bakery and bought cookies for dh. He's now a happy camper! Mechanic told me dh didn't NEED cookies! Right. Have to go back Thursday and he's putting 2 new tires on -rotating front to back & new ones on the front. Hopefully that's it for a while. Until we get our new one would be nice. Won't let dh have a car payment so it'll be a while. Had almost enough saved for it, but dh decided on investing it instead. So now we wait. Can't get the investment out before next May at least. Had figured on a new car this fall/winter. I'm happy as it is, as long as this car remains steady and faithful. It's a 2007 Town 'n Country. Bought it 'used' in 2007 with 21,000 miles and paid almost then what a new one costs now.
DH had said he wouldn't get another new one, but maybe.......
Went to A T & T today because I realized that with the new fire dept mode of transmitting fire calls -via cell phones, dh is getting tons of text messages. He didn't have texting on his phone. So.....put unlimited texting on his, changed mine to unlimited -costing us an extra $20 a month. But, I understand we now can call any cell phone in the country with no cost of minutes. We had way more minutes than we use, but dh uses a lot for business. But if we find after a couple of months that we really can go with a lot less, then they'll lower the minutes and the $20 will be a wash. Have to be the proverbial Philadelphia lawyer! Finally figured out that their hot-spot won't work for us as it would only power my laptop, plugged in. It won't do anything for our k indles or our Wii. Probably won't do the wii anyway, because it would eat up too many gygabytes downloading movies from Net flix. My phone is a 3G and I would need a 4G to do what I want it to do (at least with A t t). Can't upgrade for another year or it would be almost $400 for a new phone. Notta. Got this one for .99 and thought the 4G's were now that, but were $100 -but I'm not eligible. Crazy.

Re: Terrific Tuesday
Harmony: I'm lucky that I'm now showing improvement almost week over week. But even when I was only able to be up 7 hours at a time I was OK with that, except for the effect on travel. I figure it was better than a lot of people and I had no pain and it wasn't life threatening.
The house and more importantly, paperwork, fall farther and farther behind though. Even little things, like my devotions, are in arrears.
I'm home from being out and on a sugar high so didn't hit the bed as soon as I came in. Dh emailed and I had my phone in my hand so it vibrated as I came through the door. I got on Skype immediately and we chatted for 40 minutes. Now I need to phone my senior friend and see if she wants to go gallivanting tomorrow. I should be doing paperwork, but people are my joy these days, so I'm avoiding it like mad.

Re: Terrific Tuesday
I'm posting from the coffee shop I visit during dd14's oboe lesson! Her lessons are now an hour - some of that time is for reed-making training - so that gives me some time.
((Harmony)) How long is dgd with you? I guess I thought it was just for the weekend. How old is she?
I wish I could see your DD and class, Dee!
Great attitude, Kathryn.
Mystery, you may have been absent during dd14's field hockey tenure! She played grade 4 through middle school and became a nice, competent little player -- and then decided that she did not want to play for the high school. Oh, well. *sigh* And our high school girls' field hockey team is a strong one, state champs 2 years in a row, maybe more? The coach is a past coach of Univ. Michigan's team. She is very good as well as very nice; dd14 has gone to camps run by her. . . . One of dd14's middle school teams did have a couple ice hockey players on it, and they were good even though they were new to field hockey! I think it's not uncommon to do both. Field hockey definitely seems to be a growing sport here.
Before I left, I did manage to get in a jog AND a trip to the groc. store AND I put some potatoes in the oven, so I'm proud of myself.
I can be efficient when I have to be. I ran 3 miles about a full minute slower than I did last week. Oh, well. At least I am generally faster than I was a few months ago. Dh suggests I do one more shorter run before the race, maybe Thursday or Friday. Probably Friday by the way Thursday is shaping up. . .
I am sitting here in the cafe still in my jogging clothes. The time was too tight to change before leaving. I probably don't smell the greatest, but no one is getting too close to me, thank goodness. LOL!
OK, I'm going to look at my teaching now. I don't call it a talk, even though dh does, b/c it isn't. I will "talk" up front for a part of the time, but it is more interesting and helpful to the women if they are actively engaged and talking - in small groups and in large group. I need to be prepped enough that I can respond appropriately to a variety of comments and questions and statements. . . .

Re: Terrific Tuesday
I survived the zoo trip with no problems! PTL! My feet are throbbing and my legs are tired from standing/walking, but I'm so tickled the day went well that it is a "good hurt".
B Vitamins discussion - DMom was prescribed a B vitamin that cost her $137 a month. Her podiatrist thought it might help the nerves/pain in her feet. She discussed it with our family doctor and with her heart doctor, and they both recommended replacing this prescription with a good B complex from health food store. Yesterday, DMom and I went to health food store and asked for their recommendation. Going with their advice, we are both trying this sublingual B complex and will see if we can tell a difference.

Re: Terrific Tuesday
Good Afternoon, Villagers!
Had a 1-hour appt. in town, so didn't turn on the laptop until after we returned home and ate lunch. Quickly glanced through to cuop. So many things listed.
My PODA written last night was to do:
- work on my file box and SHE cards
- walk 30 min.
- do a snail mail catch-up
- read, wrote, and crochet
I'm very tired, might not do any of the PODA things, but I did read and walked 15 min. to add to later.
TA DA
I read my devotion, prayed and wrote in my journal
I answered an email from someone who sent proper writer guidelines, which were in error in the market book.
I played with my favorites, rearranged them and put some in folders.
I'm not feeling 100%, am very tired, so am going to get a rest now.
Everyone have a nice afternoon and evening.

Harmony: I forgot you had a small child with you. Which means you aren't getting naps. I need naps or else I get that sense of despair I hear reflected in your posts. I don't have grandkids so that's something I don't have to 'give up' but you may have to get Mr. Harmony to do full babysitting for you for a few hours each day in order to get a rest in.
I can't stress enough how important my naps are to me - both physically and for my sense of optimism. That tells me that they are medicinal and not a sign of sloth. So, for now, they remain non-negotiable in my life.

Dee, I've been watching the 5 pm and 6 pm news on Fox 13, but so far haven't seen that article.

Re: Terrific Tuesday
saying good evening to all. I have to do some after dinner stuff and then just relax (a little guilty pleasure - might even read a book)
good evening: dsunny, dkathryn,d harmony, divy, dhelia, ddee, dmystery and all
I have a "no talk about politics" rule for my dh and dmom as they are on opposite sides of the fence and are tremendously passionate and tend to say the worst of each party, and tend to believe anything that is said. So my life is so much simpler since I set it in stone. I was kind but direct! Ahhh peace (until the election day comes; I am afraid I won't be able to stop them from voicing their opinion the day before.
Both think the world will end if the other candidate is elected, so I just give the understanding smile and go to another space. It has been quiet and wonderful!
