Terrific Tuesday

I haven't found anything online either, Sunny, so am wondering if it will be on tomorrow. Told dd (in a text) that I hadn't been able to find anything. Hoping maybe she'll be able to send me a link.

Had dinner and I'm warming dh's. He's up taking a shower. Tomorrow is supposed to be 72 and sunny. After that, though, it looks like rain and chill for days. So he/we will try to get as much done as possible tomorrow. He has to work it in around his work at the campground.

Now I'm looking for the safe combination. Always something -wonder what it would be like NOT to be looking for something. I'm usually so careful not to have to do that. I HATE looking! So I have li&&ed for each day "combination & necklace". That's it. I'll just keep doing that until they show up (or not) and we leave. Then I'll eliminate them from my PODA (as I find them). Just decided not to stress over them and figure they'll 'show up'.

blessed--That is a good policy! Wishing I had not answered the phone this afternoon. Had to listen to an obnoxious relative's view, which was the complete opposite of mine. That has me feeling bad. Glad I decided not to waste my breath, though. I just let them finish and then hung up as soon as I could. Certainly can't force facts on people.

((elly)) I really dislike that sort of thing. Good for you for not engaging. Some people aren't aware how their strongly voiced opinions can tear down relationships. Dh has a friend like that. In fact, he and dh got into a huge and long argument (they have opposite political views) about 4 years ago. That was the first time dh ever told me he felt beat up (verbally) by somebody. Dh held his own, but it hurt their friendship, though this friend did eventually initiate reconciliation and admitted he felt too strongly about these things. . . . . Dh doesn't engage with him anymore on political topics, though this friend is continually voicing his opinions and sending emails. It took me a long time to forgive this friend, and I still cringe inside whenever I see him, and I feel bad about that. Dh doesn't care so much, though; dh definitely has his opinions but he knows other people have different opinions, and he likes to consider different sides of an issue. And his opinions are impacted and broadened over time. Also dh has thick skin, is very comfortable in his own skin, and is one of the most forgiving people I know.

That is smart, blessed. Yes, I know some people who think the world will end if one or the other is elected. I really wish we had more viable parties than 2; maybe we wouldn't be so polarized -- but maybe we'd have other issues.

Supper is done. I breaded and pan fried chicken drumsticks for the girls to go with baked potatoes. I had trouble getting the chicken fully cooked b/c they were slightly frozen. And I bought them today! The girls really enjoyed them, however. I think that was the first time I'd ever made chicken that way.

I need to get the girls mobilized so we can get the table and kitchen cleaned up. Garbage and recycling needs to go out tonight too.

Don't feel too bad about needing to back away from those who are so passionate that they can't see beyond their thoughts. My dmom and dh are very passionate. I have found that many are really anxious and working themselves into a tizzy. I feel bad for them actually. The passion seems to come at such a price. Its funny I was listening to the radio and the host had numerous people from both sides claiming the host sided with either Democrat or Republican because they feel so strong in the same 2 hour of his show. I love a good discussion with family about issues however now it is past a good theoretical discussion and turned into obsession, so I just need to let them feel what they feel but without me

Good for you, Elly. I have 1 relative like that (almost). It's not that her views are always opposite of ours, it's just that she's so adamant and obnoxious about it all. Sometimes the views ARE opposite of what we see however. She and her dh tend to agree and expound on the same things over and over and over! Get pretty tired of it at times.

DH brought home several containers of soft chocolate ice cream from teh camp store. He's dishing up his second and I'm resisiting.

DGD is 26 months old. Running around, still needing help to climb up into a chair, so lots of lifting, into the child seat in car and out of it, lifting lifting lifting. My arms are very sore. I made a changing table out of the end of a guest bed and I can stand there and change diapers (YES!) and dress her etc. She is better for me than she is at home because they give in...sat in the shopping cart while we got groceries because if she did she got the lollipop at the end..heh heh heh! I love her dearly but boy!

DH reads to her, will get something for her, but with his arms I don't think he can lift her or reach out for her, lift her up into her crib, he certainly can't run after her. He has helpers to do those things he can't out on the job...he'd have to have a helper to do any babysitting!

And then there is the dog, who is used to a long walk every day and a fenced yard to run in. So that's a LOT of extra steps.

She's here for another 5 days.

I am on my new thyroid medicine and thought I felt better after the first couple days, but I sure ran out of steam when I added the toddler and dog in. Kathryn, I sure understand the feeling of optimism or despair related to getting proper rest. Last night I didn't sleep well. This afternoon I did sleep a short while with one ear open to listen to playing child.

I don't want the rest of my life to be about this condition. I want to get beyond this and get back to normal stuff. I go back to dr. in another 7 weeks I think, another lab test and adjust med if necessary. Maybe that'll help. I'm taking a sublingual B12. I wonder if there's other stuff I'm deficient in.

Tomorrow is a fresh new start. I have several days' meals prepared, so there's not much cooking. My paperwork is caught up for the moment. I Can Do This.

Yes, it's a blessing to come here and leave the political discussions on the rest of the net behind.

B-complex and B-12 discussions - OKay, I believe you and your dmother were advised very well on the sublingual B-complex choice. HRH is considering that one but still has a quantity of the Source Naturals one. He likes his B-12 one but hasn't settled on a complex one. So the one you are trying would be a good move perhaps. Let us know how it tastes, as well, since for HRH that's a big point. When I question that, he says to remember that this is something he will hold in his mouth until it melts, every day, so he might as well try to find the best tasting.

Harmony, the effects of a shot would wear off in time. Did you get a sublingual to take (I think you already said you did). Although it would be nice to think it has built up in your system by now enough to give the same effect, certainly it might need more time. If you consult with the dr you could find that they assumed you might need another shot. Don't know.

lucylee, how would ds feel if dh wrote a few? (If it wouldn't bother him, then forget it - not the effect I'd be going for. )

Sunny, hope you can see the newscast. I always have a terrible time finding those things - often the producer saves for the next time/day if there are too many stories, too.

Tonight dd14 was "pinned" for her induction into the Academy of Engineering. Lots to tell about that ceremony but I am so tired and may wait until morning.

Hello, villagers ~

Okay ~ Using concrete blocks to outline the garden is a good idea. We haven't planted anything in several years, not even a single tomato. I would like to get back to a small garden. I have never liked that the previous owner used railroad ties for the outline and also interior dividers. I don't know how to get them out or how to get rid of them.

Blessedw2 ~ One DSisIL in DH's family put up a big sign declaring her house a "no politics" zone. She got tired of hearing all of the DBILs yelling at each other. They don't argue as in get mad at each other, they just keep getting louder and louder until no one else can have any conversation.

I had to stop a political discussion at the most recent sewing retreat because I could see some were getting stressed. I just announced "That's enough boring politics, who has been to a fun sewing class recently?" Everyone laughed and it was fine after that.


Today's adventures:
* Lots of Emails back & forth this morning to prep for sewing group board meeting tonight
* Decided that sitting and staring at the Email screen was not going to make the person on the other end of the line send me their info any faster, so took a quick shower and then went up to the library
* Worked 3 1/2 hours pricing fabric; packed everything away and cleaned the room because another group needed to use the room for a meeting
* Came home and ate lunch, dealt with messages and learned that the info I needed was not going to come before the meeting, so I took a little nap. The cats were happy.
* Final prep for the meeting
* Quick supper of graham crackers and coffee (I had eaten leftovers for both breakfast & supper so it was a backwards-meals day)
* The board meeting went well, we covered a lot of ground. Now I can set the sewing group files aside for the next few days and concentrate on the library group.

I need to be back up at the library bright & early in the morning so must go to bed in good time tonight. I think I'll watch some of the Dancing with the Stars that I recorded last night & tonight. I can probably fast forward through most of it.

I ended up resting from 6:30 to 7:30 with lights out (radio on low) and then watched tv until 8. Got up and started choosing outfits for the trip. Then did the ironing (2 week's worth.) Finally, I got the dishes into the dishwasher and started. All of that was done during the debate.

Also detached the stuff I bought from Cos tco from its blister packs. I treated myself to a package of battery tea lights so I can travel with some in the future, and have some in our bedroom (faux) fireplace (somehow faux candles in a faux fireplace seems 'right'!)

I didn't actually pack my clothes, partly because my underwear isn't dry yet (weird it has been on the rack for 30 hours now and should dry overnight - I'm thinking my house might be too cold for things to dry efficiently now.) My sweaters are damp still too but that is to be expected. Tomorrow is enough time to pack (or at least do a dry run.) I need to get my pillow and heating pad into the bag as well so it will be quite full even though there will be about 20 pieces of clothing (and only 5 of those are pants or tops, the rest is underwear, socks, panty hose, dressing gown, slippers and shoes.)

Hello Villagers,

I took a 1-hour nap, then hand wrote a 10-page short story in a spiral notebook to log tomorrow.

I was going to work on 3 x 5's today, but got out my 4 x 6's folder full of routines, inspirational things, Conga day, etc... on numerous pages, so I'll use this, which simplifies a lot of extra work for me right now.

DH is going to Costco and Safeway tomorrow. I'll stay home to get the story done and will crochet, I hope. Am needing to get Christmas items done before long, so I can do baby items. (For new grand-she due in March).

Okay, Concrete to line the garden is a great idea.

Blessdw2, I try to declare pen pal letters as a "no politics" zone. Not everyone thinks or believes alike on politics, religion or their doctors, too.

BookSaver, You sound like you've had a productive day.

Harriet, I'm with you on the politics, too. Leave them to others. Elsewhere.
