Sorry I've been out of the loop all day today... tried to cuop earlier, but someone spit up in my hair and all over my hands, and that kinda put a damper on computer time, LOL.
Dgs has a very stuffy nose and I could tell he just didn't feel like himself tonight. I felt so sorry for him. Ddil didn't want to take him to the nursing home, so I kept him here at home.

Harriet, I think at this point, ds would not care if we sat in Wmart parking lot and asked each person who passed us to write a note. * sigh *
HOWEVER... just when I was REALLY getting ready to throw in the towel, tonight, ds says sooo casually, as they were leaving, "We'll come over tomorrow evening." I know I looked puzzled, and he said, as if it was sooo understood, "to work on those cards..."
Well... I'm NOT going to hold my breath, but I did tell him that dfriend @ school said they should NOT be in my handwriting, but it would be perfectly acceptable for me to address envelopes, and supply "sentiments." (I did talk this over w/two dfriends at school, and they sorta agreed w/all of you... YES, the notes need to be written... but it is NOT worth creating WWIII in the family over it. One pointed out, "You are going to have ds & ddil in your life forever; it's not worth hurting their feelings to try not to offend someone at church." I told them, like I've told y'all, if ddil wasn't blaming all this on ds, I would probably have shut up a long time ago... but I do believe in equal effort from the two of them, and dgs IS ds's baby, too... so there is nothing in the world wrong w/ds writing some notes.
I think ddil will pick up on this once ds gets started.

Obsession #2...
Ddil is working Sunday, M, W, Th, & F nights next week. We will be keeping dgs Sunday night & Friday night, b/c ds will be out of town. Then we are supposed to get up Sat morning and do our almost 4-hour one-way trip to college town...
Dh -- although he practically worships dgs -- IS grumbling a little bit about this. "I just don't know if we can do that after having him here all night... if he doesn't sleep through the night, we are not going to make it Saturday..."
And like I mentioned earlier...
Ddil really, REALLY needs to go back to school... but what is that going to do to her work schedule???
DH remarked tonight: "I am going to ballgames on Saturday next fall. If they want us to keep dgs, he can just go with us."
Oh my goodness. And apparently I have very little choice re: my own attendance @ ballgames, without creating WWIII in this household, b/c (1) dh really can't hardly make the drive totally on his own; he depends on me to relieve him at least for a part of the trip... and (2) next fall, dbil will probably be making a weekend of it all b/c dniece will be in school there so dh will be even less inclined to make the trip with him & dsisil.
Grrrrr...

I know... y'all wish I'd just stayed silent tonight.

(((Harmony))) All that I just said makes me admire you even more tonight!

I try not to discuss politics either, unless with someone I know agrees with me, anyway. I've watched all three debates, but after a while, they just start to get on my nerves.

WTG, Harriet's dd!!! :D

Oh, blessed --
I get one thing (even small done) and it's so corny but I feel like I did something amazing. lol
YES... I am the same way!!!

Oh -- progress ci: from last night --
I have graded some papers AND
I have s/s bathrooms & kitchen.
Amazing. ;)
Tomorrow is another day.

Recently dd1 and dgs18 were discussing the days that he needed to put down that he would be unavailable for work. He told her that he had already made sure he was off Nov. 6. She asked what he was doing then. She said he informed her that it was Election Day! She told me that she doesn't know exactly what he expects, since he thinks that he needs the whole day off for it. Dd2 is debating about having an election watch party at the studio. I turned 18 in 1972 and that was the first time that 18 yr olds were eligible to vote, since they had lowered the age from 21 to 18. I have voted in every presidential election since then and the vast majority of other elections. When we move, we make sure we get registered, so that we can vote when needed. Our dds have watched us do that and they do the same. Now our grandson is following and realizes the importance of voting.

Today was a beautiful day. It is supposed to be cooler tomorrow. Dd2 sold 14 gelatos and had no painters today. Those gelatos won't even cover the cost to pay her employees. She is trying to come up with different theme nights and see if that will bring in painters. I think she is going to let her morning guy go. She said she can't keep paying him, when no one is coming in while he is there. She wanted and needed him to do the glazing and loading of the kiln, but he tries to do shortcuts and is sloppy. Some things have had to be reglazed and fired because of that. She also said that if things stay this slow, she will have to pull the little girls out of daycare and keep them at the shop. She pays $250.00 a week for daycare. She has talked about this before, but if they bought the building and lived upstairs it would be easier on all of them. Every night she comes back to town to close up. She feels like it is safer for her to do it, than risk something happening to any of her employees, if they left with the money. But every night the little girls cry when she leaves.

Dgd18mos has always hated her carseat. If she had her way, she would never leave home. It is a fight every time they have to put her in the car. That little girl is one stubborn little girl. She has some expressions that are just like my dh. I will tell her not to give me that grandpa D look. Then she really gives me attitude when I say that. She still won't talk. The other day I heard her say grandma and she was behind me. I told her to say grandma and she just smiled. She can repeat anything if she chooses to, she just doesn't choose to.

My dh is out of town and it is a sore subject. He is planning on taking a motorcycle trip to Galveston at the end of the month. Well last week one of the guys at work asked him how many miles he had on his bike. Then the guy said that he has known of several people who had that amount of miles and started having a vibration, so maybe dh needed to have it checked. So dh called every dealership within a 200 mile radius and no one could get him in before then. He called the Colorado Springs dealership and they could do it tomorrow. So he left today and will be back Thursday. Tonight when I talked to him, he was going on about how beautiful the mountains are and why did we leave Colorado 30 years ago? We lived there 3 years. So with this trip and the one at the end of the month, he is racking up a lot money in trips. It is not that we can't afford it, but he is using a lot of vacation time on his bike trips instead of working on the house. We have not done one thing to this house in the 10 months we have lived here. If I would have known that, I don't think I would have moved. This carpet drives me nuts. It needs replaced but we want to wait until we are done with the 2 bathroom remodels. At this rate, it won't ever get done. Grr... grumble, gripe, vent over.
