A Special Sunday

Good Morning!

THANK YOU for the birthday wishes! (((((Group Hug))))) It made me feel wonderful to come here and see them. Extra special Thank You to Lilac for the Special Sunday theme!

Thinking of helia as she finished her run this morning. So many here are good influences with your consistent exercise. Applauding Lynlee walking her dog.

Not sure what today holds for me. LO is contagious until this afternoon (48 hours after starting antibodies) so we won't attend church. We had already arraigned for others to cover our duties in church this morning and didn't change the arraignments when we had to cancel our trip.

Need to get DParents vehicle in process of being repaired. It is something electrical and their battery is over 4 years old, so we will start with the simple fixes and replace their battery first. We will have to wait until noon for stores to open, so no rush is needed this morning. DH doesn't think the battery replacement will fix it, but a weak battery could be a distraction in tracking down what is the problem. Normally I would take LO and make the go-pher run to get a new battery, but LO is treated like a celebrity when he goes to Sam's - the person who runs the tire/battery department always makes a big-to-do over him. The moment he walks through the door she hollars "THERE IS MY BOY FRIEND!" and they both run to each other and give big hugs. It always draws the attention of 10-50 people who hear/watch it happen. This person is not a friend of ours, is not family, is about 50 years older than LO and of a different race. They have no background tie and nothing in common other than they "click" and just love each other. ANYway, because of the touching/hugging that would go on.....I will need to keep LO away from there until he isn't contagious.

Breakfast has been made/cleaned up. DW is running.

I'm kinda lost without my normal schedule in place. Hum....what to do?

Oh, oh, oh.... totally forgot to share this with all of you.


Yesterday I found all my SHE books and my old cards and a massive list of old SHE names from (probably) about 10 years ago when we had "red dresses". Names like Sarge and IrreverentOne (Cathy from Oregon with 2 sons that used to get Subway all the time.) Man oh man, what a trip down memory lane. Opening that box that had been in my closet for years.

Harmony, I was so glad others were here yesterday evening with the same words I would have shared. (((Hugs))) Here it is Sunday a.m. and I know you are about too tired to try church activities, but that would be somewhere dear granddaughter could go with Grandpa for SS and nursery experience? I'm probably too late to offer that. Besides, I know getting a child ready for a new place is difficult.

Isn't it amazing how a night' sleep re-energizes us. I am good to go again.

I'm so glad I picked up the house again. It looked good to start the say. I put my big toy box away in the closet. She has her own to play with today, and that will one less thing to pick up. Mine has a big box of those little legos..you know what a mess they make.

DH went to church but I didn't. I didn't want to push it. There's a bunch to get done today. PODA:
wash all DGD clothes for packing
clean out and repack her diaper bag (I left it a mess)
store run for a jar of her juice and ice for their cooler
something for lunch tomorrow
my desk is piled up. I usually don't do that on Sunday's but I missed doing it yesterday..

OK that's enough. She just toddled in with a "Pee-Yew" so I gotta go.

big box of those little legos..you know what a mess they make.

I found it sorta funny that Harmony posted about legos while I was dealing with them too. LO just asked to play with Lego's so I got a quilt out that had a solid backing. I laid the quilt on the floor upside down (solid backing up) and then poured the legos out on the quilt. Nana's rule = all legos must stay on the quilt. He is happily building (with sound effects ) lego masterpieces. When he finishes playing with them, I will either have him pick them all up or I will pick up the 4 corners of the quilt and dump all the lego pieces back into their box.

How are you doing with your birthday present of "cement blocks"?

I have about 1/2 of them in place. Not sure how much each block weighs (somewhere between 20-45 lbs each). Yesterday i estimated that I moved 100 of them so that is a combined weight of lifting/carrying 2000-4500 lbs. WOW! I didn't realize that until I just wrote it out. No wonder my back was tired last night! I'm soooooo very grateful that I am physically able to do this.

It is going to be another beautiful day here - in the mid 90's. LO is feeling better so I'm hoping we can spend the majority of the day outside. (closing my eyes to all the things that needs to be done inside the house).

Morning y'all...

A very merry birthday Okay. And a belated happy anniversary to Lucylee. I spent yesterday watching football games and doing cross stitching.... Haven't done needle work in 10 years.

I've been battling headaches for days now but think I've finally got a handle on it...treatment includes a netty pot type device and some nasal wash. Hot steamy showers help as well. Normally I stay away hot showers because I have extremely dry skin so don't do daily showers...do complete body wash though

Friday I woke up without a headache. First time in weeks. I jumped in and blessed the house and did the laundry. Today Sweetie and I plan to be lazy. He dropped a heavy vice on his toe the other day. It isn't bothering him...but I sure can't understand why. It's the toe next to his big toe and is all black and purple. Just makes me wanna say ouch, ouch, ouch when I look at it

Lilac ... Your comments about your grandkids made me laugh...not at you of course. I taught difficult kids as well as regular kids for 20 years. I would drive my teacher friends nuts....all my kids were well behaved when they were with me, but that didn't mean my kids remained that way when they left me. Kids will do whatever you allow them to do as you already know. Being a single mom myself, I understand the guilt part. My dexh was very wealthy while I was just squeaking by. The problem was my son, it was me. I felt like I had to compete with dexh, but of course couldn't. I decided that "memories" were more valuable than money so that's what I focused on.

Harmony, you need to congratulate yourself. A house is only a house, neat or not. But a home is where happy times and memories are made and carried in our hearts forever. You've been doing that this week...tired as you are, hug your dgd and take time to engrave this moment to your heart...after all through your dd, your dgd is truly an extension of you and all you have created.
