Done:
x about 70 high school kids have been fitted with formal attire; 37 still need to be done. It was cute watching some of the younger boys figure out the cumberbuns. A couple of them were mystified and asked what it was for. Boys in the highest band wear vests with their tuxes. We were fitting the 2 highest bands.
x MBR bed stripped
x a.m. routine done
x crock pot started
x email to dsil written; she has responded already!

Girls are home. I'm waiting for dh to call re: jogging together. I'll start the rice cooker before I go so we can eat quickly when I get back.

A cold front went through yesterday, but I love how the sun is bursting through the clouds today. Temp is 65* now; will be in the 50*s tonight.

This was a wonderful opening for today Twins!

I am enjoying wearing my Seattle's Pikes Place apron today while puttering through the house. Also sat at my desk for a while to catch up there as well.

Scattered.... I like the names chosen so far. Also like Tiny Tim and Java Joe, too.

Harmony.... Oh, yes I remember babysitting Mary Jane and Tommy's little girl. I can't remember her name now, but it might come to me in time. I didn't remember that she was sick a lot, though. I heard later that they had been divorced.

One thing I should do soon is get a new address book. I had taken mine with me last year on vacation and can't find it now. I've asked ddil#3 if she had found it, but she said no, so I have no clue at this point.

.... I let myself get sidetracked and this sat here for an hour? . Now it's time for supper!

This has not been a particularly productive day but it has been a good day (by decree, hee hee!) The luncheon I went to was lovely - very good attendance from the Jewish community so I saw a lot of people there. I won the flower centerpiece by sitting in the seat with the sticker on the back of the program, but gave it to the Exec director of the Jewish federation to take to that office. Work for about an hour and got that tax return squared away for review, and otherwise have lollygagged. I really needed a day without a lot of stress, I think. (will post more in J&C in a bit.)

I going to do a couple of rounds - some of a.m. routine I didn't get to and some other stuff here, then I'll give myself the rest of the evening off. DH said he might play tennis tonight; I don't know whether he will come home first so I don't know what's happening with him this evening.

-clear/wipe kitchen counters
-give Macs p.m. meds - needs to be done close to his supper now because of the antibiotic
-get the recycling containers in from the street
-clear the kitchen table
-fold up the burlap that has been sitting on a chair for days

Scattered asked why we were looking for a fridge. Well.....we stay in an in-law wing at dd's in FL for the winter. Our room is part bedroom, part sitting room, part office & part 'kitchen'. We only have the fridge now (used to have a microwave & a coffee maker). The fridge could be more efficient for our needs with a little more room. We use it for things like beverages, cheese, dip, etc. DH would like to be able to put ice cream in a freezer (there is a freezer but not very useable). There's a few things I'd like in there. Not adverse to sharing but some things we would like and buy & put in the main freezer -when we decide to have it -quite often they're gone. Just would make life a little easier during the winter. We have our own wing including a bath/shower. Thee's an office between here and the main house so rarely even hear anything from out there.

Taking gd14 to youth group in a few minutes. I'm feeling a little off tonight. Back is bothering me and I'm achy. Took some aceteminophen a while ago so hopefully that will help. Will be ready for bed when we get back. DD and I are going to get water while gd is at church. I used the last of the water for coffee for tomorrow.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

And another round.....
-refill meds containers
-take out paper recycling to garage
-take garbage can around front and get rotted pumpkin into it :?
-walk the ddogs, who are standing around expectantly
-fold two loads laundry and put away

Dh just called and is heading home - he is picking up something for his own supper since I bought pimento cheese earlier for a sandwich.

And I am done again....dh wanted to know if I wanted to go out for dinner but I had a craving for pimento cheese earlier and had bought some. Of course, it was 6 p.m. before he called - I wish he would check in earlier. I put off the dog walk though because he may want to go with us. We're on such funny schedules tho - when I get home I want to walk the ddogs and be done with it - when he gets home he wants to settle in, watch TV and relax a while first.

Checking in.

Not a good day here. Major meltdown. Went to bed (dh tucking me in - at least he's doing a good job not taking today personally) and after an hour I had a second crying fit. He came back to try and calm me again and ended up taking me for blood work. He mentioned he wanted me tested again since I'm so upset these days and I had a current requisition. I thought the lab closed at 4 (it was 3:45) but he looked it up and we had until 5 so he took me in. Turns out this is a standing requisition good for 6 months so I can go in whenever I want to have bloodwork done. I'll contact the specialist and see if this is what he meant (can't figure out why he'd do a standing order since my numbers had been close to normal before.)

I'm coming down with a cold, sore throat, feel miserable and now a cough. Not sure about a fever but it wouldn't surprise me.

Volunteering went well but involved a lot of dust (clearing out 54' of shelves that were hidden - I didn't know they existed because they were built into the back of the display units.) Also emptied out one of the two filing cabinets as there is a taker for it. Some of the contents are now on a table (they were all in binders) and the rest were either garbage or supplies which I've found homes for in the supply cupboards. One of them is super organized - the guy in charge of it has built mini shelves in the large cupboard and everything is tupperware type containers, all labeled so it was easy to find homes for the extra boxes of staples (the staples and stapler container) and candles and matches. Even the extra phone cord had a home in the "Misc Cables" container. The cupboard is a dream come true for someone like me! (And yes, the guy is ADD, so obviously a drive to be super organized in one part life works in male ADD people as well as female.)

I left and met my friend for lunch and we visited for 2 hours. It was a great visit but wore me out completely.

Two frustrating emails - one from dd saying she'll only be here 2 full days at Christmas and an invitation to a tea on Sunday in honour of my senior friend and I can't attend. That, plus the fact that I was so exhausted, is what pushed me over the edge. As long as life goes just fine, I can barely manage but when the smallest thing goes wrong or I'm expected to do more than I think I can manage - I fall apart.

This having to nap each day is just wearing me down since it is so hard to schedule naps around meetings, flight arrangements, travel arrangements, people's phone calls, etc.

CI from today's trip.

Cardio Doc said DH is doing super. Going to do a ultra sound of legs as he has a bit of pain upon walking in calf. Also time for a stress test - so they are scheduled for next Wed.

Lunch at Denny's. Did a scan and meal check on what we ate - my turkey with dressing and green beans plus salad was 5140 mg of sodium!!! :o :o :o Next time I will look it up BEFORE I order.

Then went to car dealer. Think we will be getting a Ford Fusion SE. But they will have to add the back up camera. They will also have to come down quite a bit on price. I will be doing some research on line to see what I will pay for it. Had a good time with Sales Manager. Think he recognized a kindred spirit. I love to dicker. But I'm always having fun with it. My grand daddy was a horse trader - dealing with Morgan horses around 1900. The apple hasn't fallen far from the tree.

Time to relax in my chair. At least I know I won't have anything else for dinner - maybe some water. No more sodium.

Managed to get everything I think I had to get done, done. Well, crap I just looked at my college website and I am supposed to submit my rough draft tomorrow and I haven't even started it... I will post something tomorrow night but it won't be my rough draft. I have to work tomorrow. Beating myself up a little bit, if I had checked earlier I would have written my essay rather than cleaning. Oh well, I needed to clean both for my home and my sanity. Not worried about my essay as I have a strong A in the class.

(((Kathryn))) - feel better soon.

Going to rest for a bit and then time to pack lunch and head to bed... oh need to flip Bert & Ernie before bed too.
