Harriet, I have completely fallen of the wagon regarding healthy habits! Maybe I'll try to stop by H and F each day (is that what you do?) to help re-establish them.

I'm home and have a moment of quiet while a load of laundry runs.

It was a wonderful day.

We made it to service with 10 minutes to spare but missed 5 minutes of a hymn sing before the service. Since my friend was playing the new Grand piano, I'm sorry we missed even those few minutes. The service was also nice but during service, since he's the minister, my friend doesn't play.

We spent 2+ hours talking with him after the service. Dh was completely bowled over and has almost forgiven him for the first year after he left our church (when he would not talk to me at all or acknowledge emails because he was working hard to break all ties with our church so our new minister would settle in.) I understand why but still missed hearing from him that first year and dh was mad because I was hurt and has continued to be upset even though my friend and I are working on a new relationship - friendship instead of a pastoral relation/friendship. My friend knows now I don't think of him has my minister any more and just think of him as my friend. Dh today saw where our relationship is now and shared in that relationship. Dh was also bowled over when my friend hugged him good-bye. (During his time as our minister, I think I may have been the only one in the congregation to get a hug from him and it came when he was stricken with Bell's Palsy and was feeling vulnerable.) Today, the hugs were flowing.

My senior friend had a great time but we were leaving the church at 2:45 which was far too early to think of dinner on the way home. So I took her to Walmart and she started on her Christmas shopping. Then it was a scenic drive back to half-way home and a good Schnitzel restaurant. Dinner was fabulous.

We dropped her at home, ten and a quarter hours after she had left this morning. I'm hoping she can rest a bit tomorrow.

We were home 15 minutes later and, as tired as I was, I woke up ds to see how his day went (since there was just the empty container for the stew on the kitchen counter.)

Turns out he had also had bacon and eggs (and washed up all the pots and pans) and other snacks through the day but hadn't had dinner so I made him 1/4 of the frozen pizza and he got up for about 75 minutes. He's had a rough day, feeling very sick and was discouraged because he thought he'd feel better today than yesterday and had felt way better yesterday than the previous days. Obviously this isn't a linear recovery.

I've stripped and remade his bed with the dark sheets (which are really scary when you are sick because your body disappears and you feel you are floating.) Laundry is being run now and I'll stay up until the dryer is ready to start.

I've messaged dfs with what needs to be brought out from the apartment and he should be here tomorrow morning. His fiance will drive him out since they both happen to have the morning off work.

Just messaged with dfs. He's sick. Going for mono testing tomorrow. I may end up with two boys at home.

Harriet - Thank you for rescuing me... 41 is to young for Alzheimer's!!! I should join ya'll in H & F but I'm just not there yet.

Helia - my DS's love to play fight and I have to admit that I play with them whenever I can, I think it is important. My DGma use to play with us although she was not big on rough housing like we do, but I remember when I was 12 or 13 and she invent the grape game, the object was to put as many grapes in your mouth as possible without breaking them... she won with an amazing number, 13 or 14 if I remember correctly.

Kathryn - Please be careful with all that Mono running around. I remember when I was sick as a kid my DGma would always change the sheets and there was nothing more comforting then fresh sheets... in fact I changed my sheets last night and it was heavenly.

WooHoo!!! The last lol is in the wash!!! I also managed to match at least 1 hamper of socks... I hate to say that I have a ton of unmatched socks. My back and neck are now killing me, I have taken some meds and have my neck pillow on, may need to add a pillow for my back.

Running kinda late tonight!
I slept all afternoon. I was sooo sore from all that decorating yesterday. My goodness! I don't really remember it being so tough on me last year. Of course, I have seldom done it ALL in one day, or done it ALL by myself.
Anyway... I do feel better now -- just hope I can sleep tonight.

Like Harriet & dd, I am looking at the calendar and thinking NO BREAK till the 21st??? OH. MY. GOODNESS.
I may have to work in a "skip" day for myself.

I went to dparents' church tonight b/c dmom was singing a solo. She had hoped ds could accompany her, or even sing in her place, but he went back to his inlaws' to get ddil & dgs. They will all be coming back home tomorrow and dh & I are really ready to see dgs after a week away!

I never did any housework or school work this weekend... but I am glad for all I did get done. Now... if I can just get the shopping out of the way. I dread that too. I could easily become a Scrooge over all this Christmas prep. Maybe I'm just lazy, but it just overwhelms me to think about all that has to be done... and I don't even host a meal or even really have to cook anything for one. What will I be like when I become the oldest in the family??? * sigh *
