I stayed off the computer yesterday afternoon & evening because I wanted to get the jacket done. Ended up having to pull out 3 seams, which I guess isn't to bad considering it has been years since I've done any real sewing. It is huge, partially due to the fact that I cut some of it on the seams of the sheet and used them rather then putting them in. I need to re-seam the underarm which will hopefully make it fit better.

Had to scramble to get a small lol in with DS20's work clothes, will have to pull the towels out before they are done to throw his stuff in. I need to run get d2s as DS13 and I have to be at church by 1045. Will post my ToDo/TaDa's when I get home.

We have wonderful blue skies today after 3 days of clouds. The tops of the mountains out my window are covered with white. It probably won't last long with the sun on it, but right now, it is shining in the light.

I played sloth yesterday. S2sox and making gravy for the pork chops DH cooked for dinner were my only accomplishments. It was cold with our furnace coming on most of the day. So I curled up under the afghan with my book. Also took a great nap.

My blood sugar has been high this week, so I am really watching what I eat. This makes me VERY cranky. I am envious of those who can eat sweets, drink yummy stuff and still stay thin and healthy. I crave food all the time and can never seem to lose weight. (Need a pout smilie here)

Time to go eat my same old oatmeal and get ready for church.

Hello every one!

Yesterday was another "lunch" date with my best friend. Nothing got done around here. We walked around one of Ontario's largest and busiest malls for about 6 hours.

Today is crunch time. When Mike and I got home from our cruise on the 26th of November, he basically told me that he would like everything done and put away before December 25. Last week I promised that everything would be done by the time I went to bed tonight.

My dresser is covered in travel stuff. The table in the spare room is also covered in stuff.

Time to get moving. I also want to try to do at least one load of laundry today. (Towels)

Blessed, What a lovely start-up today! It's uplifting to just read it. Thank you!

I sat down at my cleaned off desk here, which I cleaned late last night, knowing it would "greet" me with cleanliness this a.m. and I opened a drawer, to get a post-it note out. I noticed a pen pal has sent me a little memo post-it note, for my birthday once and there is a quote on it, which states:

"Doubt whom you will, but never yourself." It was written or said by Christian N. Bovee. Then I came here to the village next and read the uplifting starter-upper.

Cathy, It sounds like you've got a productive day planned ahead of you. Good luck on that. Remember to take breaks and go in baby steps. Sometimes we push ourselves so hard.

Emptynester, I wish I could be standing there beside you, experiencing your blue skies! The mountain tops sound beautiful, too. It sounds so picturesque.

Is playing sloth mean not doing anything all day or being lazy or is it an actual game? (I know I ask the dumbest questions!) But I'm learning!

Dee, I'm so glad your DDIL is doing well. And it's an honor for your DD to sing at church and to be in Mary's role, during the sermon, too.

Twins, Sorry about that T-storm. But it woke you in time before the newspaper got too wet?! That's cool! Also, prayers for your DF who's father passed away.

Booksaver, I'm glad you got some errands done on Friday and you have a lot of leftovers, too.

Christmas lights are pretty. I hope that site gets those gifts to arrive by Christmas for you!

Kathryn, It's an emotional time for us. Having Faith helps and prayers, too. And you have a church family, which helps.

We no longer attend church. I tear up, too. Sometimes I miss it, but I do keep up with my prayers, etc... It sure helps...... We were up late, so I slept in. We're trying to get a hold of Ddil and/or Dson, to see how it's going. We don't know if the baby's been born or not, if Ddil is still in the hospital or is resting comfortably at home. I emailed Dson that if he hasn't called by 5 p.m., we'll call him. He might not have charged his cell phone battery, is all. So I'll just "Let go; Let God". I need Patience.

Ddil emailed and she got home from the hospital yesterday afternoon and she and the baby are doing fine. It's too soon for the baby to be born. They were getting her amniotic fluids up. I told her we don't need to call Dson either, since she emailed, because he's rather busy today running errands and caring for the other 6 sons. 1 son is 19 months and one son is 3 1/2, so with the other boys, too, it can be very busy.

I'm so happy the box of baby girl clothes I mailed them on Thurs. got to them, too. They loved everything. I sent preemie as well as newborn things.

Well, this lifts ME up to my best self today! I'm so happy Ddil is doing well, the baby, too, and everything.

Let go, Let God a lovely quote d ivy. When dh was very sick it was more than I could handle myself and I found myself just giving it up because there was nothing I could do and it helped me. I went through the moments but had a deep faith at those moments and was at peace with what I could do. I wish I could say that was most of the time in my life but when it came to the toughest moments of that time I could. what a blessing that she (ddil) is home and how cool is it that she has 6 boys!!!

I also like the quote don't doubt yourself.

car is emptied, put away stuff in basement except for the extra Christmas which I might end up putting away as I feel like our house is filled enough.
put cat thing up - don't like it but if I can train my cats to eat on top of that instead of the table that I have to bleach over and over again I will be thrilled.

Back from church. The service went well but we were late starting. At 5 minutes to the hour, only 6 people (including dh and I were in the sanctuary.) Then a small flood of people came in, starting with the musician. Still no choir. Then at 3 minutes past, I thought of starting it, but there was still a steady stream of people coming through. At 5 minutes past I announced that the children should got to ring the bell. It took until 8 minutes after before I finally lifted my arms and called out "May the peace of Christ be with you!" That got little response but after a minute they settled down. Sigh.... I love my church family but they are so chaotic on a Sunday morning!

I got two strong comments thanking me for the prayers so that went well. One said, you perfectly addressed it without talking specifically about it. Which is true. What I said was:

We absorb the news this week and reel with the shock of it all. Man's inhumanity to man is splashed over the headlines this weekend, taking our breath away. Helpless, we turn to you for a glimmer of understanding, a path to forgiveness, and sign that you are there, even when it seems as if you are not. We pray that your sheltering wings will embrace all who turn to you for comfort and assurance.

There was laughter and music and the children were engaged in the children's time. Sunday School apparently went well too, although the teacher was outnumbered 11:1. I made note of the numbers because I'm teaching next week.

The weather here is awful and supposed to get much, much, worse overnight so ds is heading to his home now since he has to go to work in the morning. He hopes to do some shopping on the way home.

Afternoon to y'all..
I have been headache free for 5 days. Am trying to adjust to my blood pressure meds. The full dosage which I started we'd night has really left me feeling very lathargic, especially in the mornings. I was told this would happen but don't like it. May cut it back tonight to see what happens.

Harriet.. I spent 10 years teaching in intercity schools where I encountered threats of violence on a daily basis. During the last 10 years the schools here are required to practice mandatory lockdowns at least 4 times a year. In our district we are told to lock our doors and try to keep kids quiet. Then I'm suppose to slide a green lamented 8.5x11paper under my door into the hallway. This is to signal the first responders that we are all safe. Do you see anything odd about that??? Stupid people... Might as well tell the shooters where we are and unlock the door so they can come in.

Before the names were released yesterday I knew one of the dead would be the principal. She did what any one of us......at least I'd like to. Think..would do to save the children. However her heroic intentions and body wasn't enough to save her students. They were shot like fishes in a bowl. That is what incensed me. We teachers have no way to protect our kids in these types of situations...perhaps the principal should of had a gun. Most people don't like thinking this way, but perhaps if someone one campus had one there wouldn't be 26 people dead. Don't mean to offend anyone... Just tired of seeing this kind of violence occur over and over again.

I have been outside doing chores yd. work it was a lovely day warm sunny and I can't believe how much fun it was just cleaning up the nest boxes getting time to process all that's been going on. The squirrels were chattering and scampering around the roo got me up at seven. The hens have had some scuffles and knocked over the water and a ramp so I had to get that righted. Trying to teach the established hens a new routine is not as easy as one might think! Lol! Then hubby has his way of what he think will work but I had to open it all up and put in the other hanging feeder. First one roo was out to free range and then a couple hens, and others snuck out so I just sort of gave up and will be trying to tweak their new routine again tomorrow. Still waiting on eggs... just getting the light up is an improvement the established chickens are acting like they have jet lag or something! LOL!

Have to get stuff for h's lunch today and there is a storm coming my team is playing in a while. Kitchen needs attn. so little time so much to do but I'm doing what I can.
