Good morning, villagers ~
Blessedw2 ~ Sorry, I cannot help you as I don't care for fried chicken so don't cook it. DH buys it for himself at the WM deli on my sewing group nights when I have to eat my supper and leave before he gets home from work.
For the aroma, if you don't have a vent for the stove, maybe burn an unscented candle?
Okay ~ Did you stick with the noodles for N or switch to something else for Show & Tell?
CI: Adventures with Plumbing -- or actually, Adventures withOUT Plumbing
Message yesterday from the hardware store that the faucet insert we need for the shower is no longer being manufactured. They can get us a substitution but they need to see the part again. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it disassembled and DH couldn't get home to do it before the store closed.
I told DH that if we spent the evening collecting water to fill all the containers I could find, then he could turn off the water and pull the thing apart at bedtime and I would go to the hardware store while he's at work today. I thought I had a brilliant idea when I remembered our big water jug for camping; we didn't know it had cracked, so that made a big mess. There's a motley collection of buckets & bins in the bathroom for flushing the toilet, and the kitchen counter is full of pitchers and bottles for drinking water for myself and the cats. Also a thermos of hot water so I can wash my face.
I'm in Pollyanna mode, though -- grateful that I'm in a warm house with electricity, and at least I don't have to haul all of the water from a well miles from home the way many people in the world have to do.
I'm waiting for heavy fog to lift before I hit the road for errands. We don't need many groceries today, I'm trying to use up what's in the cupboards before restocking. We have plenty of hand sanitizer but some fresh baby wipes would come in handy.
Oh how I hope the hardware store has what we need in stock. I would love for DH to finally have a stress-free weekend. Feels like it's been one thing after another since before Christmas!
