Re: Friday Doings
I've been so busy that I haven't posted about memory problems/solutions here - but I have meant to.
DH has had memory problems for quite a few years now. So much so that most of the time when he leaves the house, I go with him. I am always on edge when with him to watch for traffic, give directions for travel, and make sure we go all the places we need to.
I can relate to KIC's sauce incident as it happened all the time.
That being said - I have started (since his heart check up last November) to add another supplement to the amount of pills we take every morning that is seeming to help.
Lecithin - 400 mg. The direction say 1 tablet 3 times a day - but we have just been taking one per day. I really think I have seen a difference.
Please look it up and do your own research. Check with your Drs. Etc, etc.

Re: Friday Doings
Good morning, villagers ~
I have a few follow-up tasks from both of this week's big meetings, and a couple of errands to run this afternoon. Then in theory I will have 6 full days to put total focus on the house. Bliss, if it actually works out!

Morning y'all..
Just zooming through... I'm in the middle of a small house blessing and don't want the " gremlins" to snatch me.
I too do luminosity lyenle, and I understand what you mean about your LD issuses getting in the way. I have a terrible time with the word stem game. Sometimes I get so discouraged I just want to quit. I was never very good with words to begin with and after my mini strokes am even worse. I paid for my program. I do it several times a week. I also have two other free programs I really like. I will post the links later......

Re: Friday Doings
Hi all, I was happy to see that d twins is feeling better!
I will try to say hi to each of you individually as the day goes on but not sure if I can... just know I am thinking of each one of you with lots of
smiles
yesterday we worked at dmil house all day. after dd's piano, It took 1-1/2 hours for us to drive home that normally takes 20 min. at most because people worry about snow. I wanted more than we got but I am very happy we got some. dh drove 3-1/2 hours which usually takes 45 minutes to 55 min. no rhyme or reason.
thinking of all northeasterners that are getting snow today..
saying hi, then dailies.

Re: Friday Doings
I'm having another not-productive day.
I have filled in the guest registration form for the cruise and hope to make final payment today.
I exercised and s2s, made quinoa/beef/vegetable soup (very good) and started teriyaki pork chops in the slow cooker for dinner.
I think that's it.
Agreed to babysit 8 days from now, as well as on Ash Wednesday. So I'll get to spend a lot of the time with the 3 boys in my life. It has been over a year since we've spent really social time together (I see them lots at church and sometimes at home) so I'm looking forward to that.
School is cancelled out here today. The snow is falling, falling, falling. Not sure of accumulation, probably only a few inches, but with the blowing it is poor visibility, wind-polished roads, and drifting so it is just as well the buses are off the rural routes.
I'm going to try and get going on the rest of my plan now.

Cue Hallelujiah Chorus LOUD!!! DFosterCat13 has FINISHED her medicine! No more games of hide-and-seek, no more forlorn kitty. Today I have a late lunch with friends, then an early dinner with a friend. At lunch I need to remember to give out DD's party invitations. I think I will have myself some tea and tylenol, then get cracking on some documents.

Re: Friday Doings
I spent a long time on the phone with dd2 this morning, discussing her business. After Christmas it slowed down, so she closed Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and opens at 1 pm. This Tuesday she brought in $72.00 for the 8 hours. Considering the daycare is $50.00 a day, plus paying her help, she is in the hole. Yesterday 1 person painted a mug and she sold some gelato. Which is even worse, plus Thursdays are usually busy. She said that they pay daycare out of her dhs income because all of her profits go back in the business or on her business loan. Her banker is being a jerk. He keeps telling her she would have never gotten the loan, except for her dhs assets. She gets that and doesn't need to be reminded. Then he keeps harping on her paying off this or that. She has been open 4 months. Does he really expect her to have the loan paid off in that time. You always hear that it takes at least a year to see a profit. Her lease is up in October. She has decided to take the girls out of daycare and just be open Thursday-Sunday, but she will open Tuesday or Wednesdays for large groups. Then they will use the daycare money on the business loan. It is not ideal but she is hoping it will help the situation. I did not mention it to her but I will try to have my schedule where I can watch the girls on Thursday and Friday afternoons, or at least part of the afternoon. I bit my tongue because she doesn't need to hear I told you so, but I did, for all the good it did. She assured me that she is now over the idea of having a business and if/when she gets out of this one, she is done. She is at the point that she just wants to get it paid off and then decide whether it is worth it. She has not used 1 penny to pay herself and feels like she working hard for nothing. I am hoping that by being closed for 3 days that she will be able to enjoy her life and it might help dealing with the business, easier. Since she took possession of the building in July, she hit the ground running and has been at it, since then.
Well I need to get to the grocery store. I am just basically buying enough to get us thru the weekend.

Re: Friday Doings
Lilac I don't really sense an entrepreneur in your dd's response, rather, someone who was bored with her life and thought this change would be a good thing.
An entrepreneur would have argued back to the banker that he was being unrealistic, that summer is when you expect profits from gelato, not the dead of winter, and if he doesn't get that, maybe he is in the wrong business, but she is in the right business. She is working the kinks out of the day to day running of this new business so that she'll be ready to handle the rush season when it comes, maximizing her profits at that point. An entrepreneur would have argued that there is a plan, all is going to plan, the bank will get paid before she does and pressure now is not helpful or effective at making the business materialize faster.
Unfortunately, I'm guessing the banker also sensed she wasn't an entrepreneur and sees this loan as a great way to get ahold of her dh's assets.

Re: Friday Doings
Lilac, I think your DD's banker is being a bit too pushy, to expect the loan paid off in 4 months. I'd be giving my client a full year to give her a chance, instead of "Pre-nagging" her!
It's nice that you'll baby-sit, too. Has she ever considered trying an Etsy Shop and working from home, on her own schedule?
I have a BFF who started a cake-topper business and they're made by hand from paper, somehow, all are unique and she's done quite well. She's over-worked, is working outlandish hours, tried an employee once, but it didn't work out, but she's happily productive, tired, yes, but is doing well. Some people sew tote bags and grocery totes, crochet, knit, make jewelry, and all sorts of things. I have no "clue" to how they go about it, but having a good camera to photograph and post items made is smart. I wish your DD wasn't sounding so discouraged, but she does.
It's sad to have a dream and have it not work out. It's nice you'll help out with sitting for her though. Sweet Dmom!
Elizabeth, Congrats on the cat and medicine!
Kathryn, I'm having a not-productive day so far, too!
Dunno what happened!
I got up at 7:40 a.m. without the alarm, too! I got my s2s about 11 a.m.
Better later than never.
I wasted (but not REALLY wasting)
time downloading some books. I got romances, mysteries and collections of short stories. I need to start reading more, but with regular books, too, it's hard to do everything! Also, I printed up some dress patterns for Baby Megan, too.
I'll do a dress, mail it in a mailer, every week or 2.
She'll be dressed to the nines when she grows and comes home, too.
Kathryn, When you baby-sit the 3 boys in your life, are they related to you? Like grandsons?
I gloss over so many cuop or have days where I don't post, so I'm uncertain if you have 3 little boys of your own, since you sound younger, or if they might be grandsons because you sound so mature. Now, that sounds like every woman who is young with kids is stupid! I DON'T mean THAT!
In other words, you sound full of energy, yet young, so I was wondering if they were your own sons.
I need to run. DH is heading out the door, I need to start my laundry and continue writing on my letter.
Waving Hello to ALL and those of you in the path of 1 - 3 feet of snow coming at you- I'm praying for your safety, keeping warm and keeping power, too! Hang in there.
