Thanks Harriet!
Back from town we got chicks today; 10 Rhode Island Red ones!
They are not as loud as I thought they might be I"m sort of getting used to it. Dgd is SO excited! How fun is grandma's house?!
Got a call and may be doing part time baby sitting for a baby just till June.
Dgson will be here shortly.
Changed the settings for a list that I was on today so that will help lower my frustration level some yea!

(((Kathryn))) I once left a church over a responsive prayer used in a Mothers Day service. I don't know if it annoyed others, but i found it soooo negative in my then negative mind. I didn't need it more so.
Interesting reading of the arts programs.

Harriet - Please tell your DD I appreciate the music suggestion! She did a great job picking music with a good beat for dancing.
I'm not 100% sure what is going on with LO, but I suspect Mr 4 year old pulled a "fast one" on several adults that know him well. The school called and said LO had been crying for over an hour....complaining that his side hurt. He said he fell off the merry-go-round, but no one saw him fall and he didn't have any red mark. They tried several ways to distract him but he was persistent. They called me because they were unsure. When I got to the school he didn't want to move and he walked bent over because of the pain in his side. He consistently held the same place. Hum.....what to do? I fell hook-line-and-sinker for his performance. He was holding his left side right where the spleen is located.....the same organ that caused his mother so many problems until it was removed. I called the doctor office and got LO in to see doctor. They took us right in when we arrived. I had to carry LO down the steps because he was bent over in pain and couldn't step down them. OHHhhhh Boy! He was so convincing......until we got into the doctor office THEN he was perfectly fine.
The doctor checked him over and told me what signs to look for on the very slim chance there is internal bleeding......but basically she thought LO had pulled a good one on two teachers, an aide, school nurse and me.
He is spending the rest of the day in his PJ's with no play time or digital toys to entertain him. Hopefully this boredom will encourage him never to do that stunt again.

OKay He'll probably be sick to his stomach all night just to get even for the boring afternoon and to make you second guess yourself!
Lots of stuff is whirling in my head but nothing on the screen yet. This is going to be interesting when the words finally pour out. I'm going to try and get the service done by bedtime and then make a decision about whether to stay up and write or go to sleep.

A booster shot for Lo might have made him think twice about doing that again as well.
I have the heat light set up for the chicks and they are down stairs now that the family has all got to welcome them home.

Hey y'all....
Sweetie came down with the crud on Sunday...I made a huge pot of home made chicken noodle soup. It was good, have plenty of leftovers, and Sweetie is feeling better.
My son is coming Friday so I'm sleeping in the extra bed and staying away from germs
My day has been shot. Had two headaches today. No fun at all but there was still plenty of soup to eat!!!
Nancy .... Now whenever I see your name I think... Oh boy more chicken news; love it. I e en know what your new chicks are. My great gmom had them. When I was little, about three, I would hide behind her while she through feed to her chickens. She carried the feed in her apron. She would make clucking sounds when we got to the "hen house" and the chickens would come flying out. Scared me to death, but I always wanted to go with her. My ggmom feeding chicks, her checkers apron and the johnny jump ups she grew by her hen house are some of the first memories I have.
Nitters to y'all....morning lynlee

Math teacher is suggesting way too much creativity.
Dd's making a car advertisement graphing various options of downpayment, years of payments, interest rate and monthly payment. She decided to use Penny (the hen) as the saleschick for the photos. This is how I ended up trying to hold a chicken on the hood of the truck until she got the camera ready and I could let go. Penny was upset. We had to rinse the hood off. Photogenic, though.

I'm done the service bulletin so will be heading off to bed. Choosing hymns this Sunday was like pulling teeth, slow and painful. But it is done. I'm not happy with them, but there are two old favourites and a lively new one to end the service. All the prayers are done except the long ones and a throwaway prayer.
The children's story is pretty easy. Hens and chicks. Guess what? Being a city girl I didn't realize how truly tucked under the hen's wing chicks can get. But I hit a website with a ton of photos so I'm going to do a slideshow of six of those while I read the gospel story. It will help them visualize how encompassing God's love is.
Took a lot of formatting to get it into one page but it is there so the secretary doesn't have to go to an extra page like she did last week (since the back was pre-printed.)
I'm going to use the prayer on the back in my sermon, I think. It will be something memorable if nothing else, since I don't ever recall a minister having us do a responsive reading in the middle of the sermon!

Re: Tuesday PWYC
Hi everyone! I picked up DD11 early today. I had arranged a friend of DD's to go to Chuck E Cheese for Girls Night Out (well, 2 girls + him) only to find out she had invited him to Chinese too! After some fast rearranging, all went well and they had a good time. When XDH arrived to pick her up, she was cheerfully doing her homework, so we let her finish it here. It was about MLK and had parts of his "I have a dream" speech as well as other information. As I read the speech, DD cheered. I can only imagine how effective it must have been from the man himself.
I have a LOL running, dishwasher running, mail checked, dFosterCat13 meds administered, and cat box cleaned.
Still need to do: feed/water cats, LR pickup, sewing room clean, box work, and put away dry LOL.
I completely forgot to call for the tax appointment today, so must do it tomorrow. Also must get a cake for a baby shower, wrap presents for same. I have a dentist appoinment and Bible study tomorrow.
