St Patrick's Day Sunday

OKay, even if you do have to stay close to home, you can break up the routine by adding in some fun things to do around town! Hope no more trouble from MPB.

My dh's TADA is that the entire shower is tiled. Not grouted but tiled. He does such a meticulous job. Now he is tiling a 6 ft bathroom wall. It is just half way up. The bottom 3 tiers are 12 X 12 tiles. The next row is 6 X 6 tiles, every other one matches the 12 x 12 tiles and every other one is a decorative embossed version of the tiles. The top row will be 3 x 12 in bullnosed tiles. Dh keeps apologizing for it taking so long. I would rather it be slow and perfect, than a sloppy and fast, end result.

After the last round I did a little paper sorting and then an extended nap. I've lost my "get up and go" as I need to s2s and get ready to go out soon - we will be leaving here just before 5 p.m.

Going to reboot laundry and perhaps do the dog poop patrol...

The DW is running. I loaded it all, except silverware, which DH did. I dusted, dust mopped, cleaned our deep garden triangle tub, which is very difficult to do and get in and out of. I dumped trash, dusted a fake Benjamina tree's leaves off, and ate a healthy lunch.

I worked on a short story for quite awhile. It's embarrassing what happened. I started the story out, in the 1st person, with the names of my so-called sister and bil. Somewhere, between the antibiotic ointment, being unable to see clearly, my bil ended up with a different name! I was on page 10, when I discovered this. I had to "fix" it today. It took time. Then, I realized I'd added a girlfriend of the main character, who she was talking to, but it had nothing to do with the story. I had to edit them out and I just thank God I've got the eye ointment because I'd have sent a very dumb story off to the editor without checking it better. I'm very good about editing and I'm just so surprised how many mistakes I made.

So I'm beat! I'm going to go rest now. DH will make corned beef in 2 cups apple cider in the electric pressure cooker for dinner. I plan on not eating dessert because what I had upset the tummy at 6 a.m., on and off, but woke up feeling fine.

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

XDH has DD11 all this weekend, so I made sure to jam pack my weekend so I wouldn't mope. Friday, I went to a crochet/knit group, then to eat, then to the Hobbit with a friend. She did not know it was one of three and was irritated by that. Oops.

Saturday was the usual cat clinic and the knit crochet group at the coffee shop. Then I rushed home to eat and do some chores. Then I went to a PARTY where we stuffed plastic eggs for an Easter egg hunt party and drank wine and enjoyed each others' company. My friend who gave the party let me spend the night so I could enjoy the wine rather than worry about driving home. I got a bummer of a phone call from DD during the party. She wanted to tell me all about this great new place that XDH and the other woman took her to. Yep, it was the same place that I was going to take her next weekend when I have her.

Sunday, I was late to church as usual, can't blame it on DD. When I got home, I realized that my house key and mailbox key had departed for parts unknown! (Eloped maybe? They were together.) I also ran a LOL. I went to lunch with a friend, then to an RV show. (No, I cannot afford even the cheap ones, but a girl can dream). On the way back, I got a key made and realized my checkbook was missing! Fortunately, I had cash, but could not go to the grocery store. When I got back, the new key opened the door, but wouldn't come out! I had to call XDH to get it out. I found the checkbook on the kitchen table. Back to the hardware store for a new key, then the grocery store. The second key works, but kind of sticks. I think I will get another key from a DIFFERENT hardware store! Despite the run of bad luck, my mood is pretty good. I hope it gave you a bit of a laugh.

Tonight, I will do the usual stuff: pack tomorrow's lunch, cat care, me care, etc. If the previous LOL is dry, I will run another. While I am online, I will check my payroll deposit amount and update Quicken. Then I will transfer any remaining money from last month to savings. There will not be much, but there will be some. I will work on (finish???) dNiece's doll dress while watching mindless videos. Maybe I will cook something for the freezer, too.

Home again. Long program - not something I would have chosen to do but a client asked dh to be a sponsor, I think. Dinner was good - salmon with a dill sauce.

Dh and I walked ddogs two quick laps. I am going to lie down and read awhile and finish up with laundry folding etc. in the a.m. Cleaning lady comes tomorrow.

Back to the salt mine tomorrow. Four weeks from tomorrow I'll be free, free, free as a bird!

<Sigh> My run of bad luck continues. I decided to do some cooking and have discovered the hard way that potato peels plug up garbage disposals. <Sigh>

On the plus side, I did get Quicken updated and money transferred to savings. I can't do another LOL because the previous one is not dry. I think I will cook some vegetables (NOT potatoes!) to go with my lunch tomorrow.

Just a sorta busy Sunday around here... church, and then we've been on grandma/grandpa duty all day since we got home.
DGS has been very good, but he hasn't napped much.
I was sooo sooo tired all afternoon, that I didn't get anything accomplished, either. We did go to Wmart & get groceries... and checked mail/newspaper @ my parents' house. (Newspaper subscription is supposed to be suspended for a month, but they keep bringing it anyway! ) Talked to dmom on phone. They are coming home this week! Only for a week -- but still, I know they will be sooo thrilled to see dgs, and to sleep in their own bed for a change, and maybe get some business stuff straightened out.

Anyway -- now I am faced w/a LOT of laundry... and all the other Sunday night stuff... and ds & ddil will not be home for another couple of hours. So... up & at 'em.

Hi everyone. Dd33's family is home safe. I napped long and hard. Highlight of the visit was going to see ds28, who took all nephews to ride on the 4x4 and let dd14 just handle it herself. Another highlight close 2nd was playing The Big Bang Theory game that HRH had gotten me for Valentines Day. We knew dd33 and dsil would be great fun to play with and had waited to open it until they were here. I think we'd all highly recommend the game, and found the game board fascinating (geometric intersections give the game pieces multiple routes). HRH hated that you have to draw things sometimes, but we all loved how much he hated the drawing, lol, so that made up for it.

blessed, I also had a bad dream about housekeeping that night! I dreamed that at dd14's longest-time friend's house, the children had made a terrible mess in every room and stairway, but somehow I was responsible to get it all cleaned up before some event. I couldn't get dd, her friend, or friend's little brother12 to help at all. I kept going through the house trying to find them and get them to work, but more and more of their friends, whom I didn't know, kept multiplying to play with them and all would run away from me or just make so much noise (and more mess) that I couldn't get their attention. Yipes. I imagine a psychologist would have a field day with that. I do not remember many housekeeping bad dreams, and certainly don't remember many dreams that had children as the problem. Although I suppose it is a variation on my recurring litter-of-puppies dreams. I do not envy you any dream that had linens going down the toilet! I'm sure OKay doesn't even want to think about it!

DH cooked a wonderful tender flavorful corned beef. It cooked in the pressure cooker for 24 min. per Lbs. so it took 80 min. + extra cool-down. We had scalloped potatoes and peas, too. I had applesauce and feel stuffed!

I read on the internet how my bacterial eye infection can cause some patients to lose their eye lashes! I'm one of them! The center eye lashes on top have disappeared. I have some on the outer 1/2 top eyelids. I haven't checked the bottom eyelids. Anyway, I'm uncertain now if I'll become eyelash-less or if they'll grow back. I'm not worried about it because I don't wear mascara, especially right now. My upper eyelids sag and cover up the eyelashes anyway. So this is interesting to me.

DH is watching the world baseball game now. I think I'll wind down and crochet for awhile and gear up for the week ahead. Tomorrow dgs turns 16.
