As I've been reading along here, I've been alternately worried and relieved, especially about OKay and family and larger community.

Cowinkie, I'm so sorry you've dealt with a migraine and hope you are about finished with it.

Thank you all so much for the kind, kind wishes! I want to spend my coming year as the best 57 I can be.

Dd33 and family arrived safely at 7:45 and we had a mini-party for me followed by a lovely supper together (salmon and asparagus), ending with a very small cake on which HRH had had written, Happy Birthday, DW. :D I got a galvanized watering can, an indoor-outdoor temperature gauge, a dozen canning jars and 2 sets of quilt fabric picked out by the older grandboys. They have very eclectic tastes! The pirates fabric and the dogs-in-sweaters fabric will look especially good in a scrap quilt one of these days! (and the nice thing is, they actually know that) Their presents were each no bigger than a sandwich, but they picked out huge gift bags for them, lol. So dd33 just used an amazing amount of tissue paper! little britches rebelled at fabric because he wanted to give me candy, which he declined to wrap because I couldn't see it then. So I got one of the see-through boxes of Ferraro Roche and dd33 and I said together: "That makes a good storage box." We are so sidetrackable.

Up until they arrived, of course, I was flying through a lot of tasks. Tomorrow ds28 and familly plan to be here, too, and we will all celebrate a belated birthday for DangerBoy. In the morning, HRH will first bake 3 cake layers and when the boys arrive he will assemble, frost and decorate a funny cake with them. Later dd33 and I will leave everyone else here and go to visit a dcousin who has a small antique piece to give dd and some glassware for me. At some point, my two daughters will have an algebra 2 fest. And hopefully dd14 will get to ask all her questions and feel more confident about these multiple, multiple study guides that are haunting her final exam thoughts!
