Whistling and looking around...

That gave me my biggest smile in a while.

helia wins the literacy award for the day with her correct use of the word, "antecedent". That's a toughie. I usually put it in sentences about quirky older relatives. :) For instance, today dd was watching the movie, "Series of Unfortunate Events" and mentioned that the Baudelaire relatives reminded her of my maternal family, with some crazy mixed in. Bless her heart, she knows her antecedents so well she doesn't notice the crazy is already there.

Hello Ladies,

Just a quick check in between packing boxes.

Please bear with me, as I'm reading your posts but really don't have time at the moment to really reply to you all.

((Hugs and more Hugs)) to everyone and know that I think about you all every day.

We are trying to cull and get rid of stuff whilst packing. I know we will still probably take too much but we can do more culling once we open each box one at a time on that side. In the meantime, our landlord has said to move into another cottage on the property for the next couple of months until we are all sorted with the bank as we cannot take ownership until we have the home loan guarantee.

Off now to carry on packing but will post up a link in members only for you to see pictures of my hopefully new home.

MT, you always, ALWAYS have great advice when you get on your soapbox.

I started working on the sunroom first thing this morning. Dh had cut up the many large boxes that we had accumulated for our bathroom construction. I loaded them and took them to recycling. Came back and finished staightening everything and vacuumed. Dd2 called and needed me to go get the boys. She had left them at home, while she opened. Her new gal didn't show up, so she called another one. Dgs9 had to go to the Rec Commission at noon for something about the All Star ball team he is on. After that I came home and ate lunch. Then I vacummed out the double garage. There were dead bugs everywhere. Then I moved onto hosing down the large tiled entryway. I still need to clean the house. I am also hoping to get the floors of the 3 walk in closets emptied out. With these spiders, I want him to spray as much as possible.

Better get to cleaning the house...................

Smiling at Harriet. :)

done:
x invites in the mail
x pet store
x Walgreens
x gassed van
x brought up garbage and recycling bins
x unloaded the car
x had a small (2 pt.) snack and vegged. .

I SHOULD get up and do something. But I feel so tired. *yawn* I might succumb to a little nap - just b/c I can. :) As a consequence, exercise may not happen today - unless I go tonight or convince dh to go on a long walk with me tonight. . .

I'm taking it easy. Will go for a nap in a few minutes.

The "Christmas in July" went well. It was a full turkey dinner (I skipped the Caesar salad to start, the stuffing, only at half my potatoes, ate dh's brocolli, and left the pie pastry and ice cream but ate most of the filling of my piece of pie.) Singing made my insides hurt after a while. I'm figuring the organs are all tender and the diaphragm kept bumping up against stuff. I sat for as much of the singing as I could. Dh sets things low so I only had to pass on a few of the higher harmonies.

We brought my senior friend back here and she's with dh and ds now to watch the movie. I'm at home, resting. MT would be proud I listen to her!

Dinner tonight will be something light. Dh is just going to have a bagel.

Dh picked up work in San Diego so will be going down there September 14 - 21. While, technically I'm free then, I think I'll stay home. The week before we are hosting a meeting here so I'll be tired from that. And the week after, dd is coming towards the end of the week and then ds leaves for Australia, so I think I want the time at home with him.

Sadie, BWTG getting weeklies done. That's great!

Harriet, I've read my way through all of those books except for 3 of them. Got tired of reading younger books and switched to adult ones for a change. I didn't know they'd made any of them into movies. I can't imagine how they did that. Ask your DD if these books are an allegory about good and evil in the world, sorta like the way the Chronicles of Narnia is? I mean, there's a serpent and life-saving apples, and evil that wants to take over the good parts, the schism, etc. Now there's another interesting word.

DFriend came with her sauce and meatloaf etc. at least 2 meals' worth. Very nice.

Got a bunch more done at my desk but it's still piled. I'm going to do what Kathryn's doing - rest!

Now I remember why I don't nap much - my body just doesn't do it very well. I lay down, did a sudoku, dozed off for about 10 minutes - and that was it. Now, I'm drinking tea in hopes that will help me feel more awake.

The septic tanks have been pumped, but the alarm box has a short in it, an electrician now needs to come fix THAT! Had the septic not plugged, needing to be pumped, we'd had not known about the alarm system short. So I "guess" that's a good thing? :?: This about the 5th thing to go wrong in 6 weeks now or 8 weeks. Will it end? Awe, come on! Think positive! Right?

But I do get discouraged.

The sun's trying to break through the clouds. :D

My cat's scared, she's hiding behind our washer again. Poor baby gets scared of worker men when they come. :(

Back to doing laundry and normal stuff now.

The septic man said to use the disposal less because that matter isn't breaking down in our system as well. So it's eat more leftovers or use the garbage can more.
