Made one dpc to the cable co. the classic e.s.p.n. is not available in the cable package we have they moved it to a premium package.

Our modem is old so I've got an apt. to have them coming to do a switch for the newer faster one! Yea! On Mon. afternoon. Maybe I'll be able to have less buffering with u-tube now. Got $3.00 off in a bundle package we had before and it expired so we can get that going again for a yr.

[Had to unplug modem for ten min. two times this week to get it to work.] ~Sigh~ technology.

I am worn out with the heat, but very pleased that my comment provoked a smile from Harriet.
That gave me my biggest smile in a while.
I'm going back to the morning for some comments...

Helia, the trip to take dmom to see dsis was last Thursday.

Harmony, glad you decided to take the evening off. I'm so sorry you're still feeling so lousy.

Yes, I don't know how Kathryn is doing it either. Hoping for her sake that her strength comes back quickly.

Hugs for LisaB in the middle of packing and moving.

WTG, Sadie!

I also tried for a nap and pretty much failed. Was so tired when I came in, but then didn't fall asleep when I laid down.

Ivy, now you won't have to pump the septic tank for a long while. At least that is done.

I picked up a couple of expensive chicken breasts for me and dh for supper tonight. He has gone to play tennis and will be back later. Ds made himself a freezer pizza.

I have several things I need to do tonight including clearing the house some for dcleaning lady in the a.m. Tomorrow a.m. dh is going to his Friday a.m. club breakfast, and will come back home and we'll head out of town. Need to prioritize what is most important to get done now. I can also sleep in the car tomorrow.

Call from dear aunt of the daily aprons. She says, "I don't have good news" and I felt so sad with that - she never says that.

I have 2 aunts - oldest aunt the flower-gardener, and my neighbor-uncle's wife who is blind - both going into, or already in (2 different) hospitals today. I'll tell about this in J and C.

She asked me didn't I have any good news. :( Suddenly, I didn't even feel like telling her about the article about Daddy, even though it turns out it made the front page (small newspaper), with a large photo. How do I tell her we have something to smile about when now, others are suffering... can hardly do it, but I told a little, and she tried to brighten up.

I called neighbor-uncle to offer to help. He has the practical nurse with him, but honestly she is not well herself!!!! HRH refuses to allow a trip to the other more distant hospital until daylight anyway.

How am I doing it? Well it is 5 weeks today since the surgery so I should be getting stronger. At least to the point of lifting some things but I'm holding off until I see the surgeon next week. It is also 2 weeks since I last went into the hospital. I'm still not eating fully and I'm still having a 2 hour rest/nap almost daily.

I'd like to start exercising, at least to 5K steps a day but before I do that, I'll start in with knee exercises since I don't want my knees to go out again.

Really, I'm just doing one thing each day (yesterday the survey, today the singing) and trying not to look at the train wreck coming my way starting next week when I have 2 services each Sunday for 2 weeks in a row, then another 4 weeks of single services.

I'm hoping to finish this week's service tonight. I'm reusing a sermon from three years ago so just have to edit it down by 2/3 and reusing most of the prayers. Music was picked a few weeks ago and there's no bulletin to produce since nothing is responsive at the senior's home. When I can this summer, I'm reusing material when I'm not preaching at the same church I did three years ago.

Yes, I'm very happy we won't need to pump our 3-tank septic system for a long while. :D

I'm trying to do a laundry catch-up now that they've finished pumping.

I've been getting so TERRIBLY "sidetracked" today! But I read chapter 1 on my writer friend's new book and WOW! :!: She's an excellent writer, too!

And I met two new acquaintances today, both having to do with groups I'm in, who do the same things I do, which is nice, too.

My plans are to look at my calendar for tomorrow, turn off the computer for the night and get my other stuff done.

. Oh, Kathryn, so hoping you're really up to all of that. Between you and Mr. Dee it just seems like 3 steps forward and 2 or 4 steps back. In this heat dh has really noticed he can't do anything! Moved a few tools off the deck bench so they wouldn't get wet and was completely drained. An hour & a half later he 'hurried' across the lawn to turn off the sprinkler and couldn't believe how spent he was. Hopefully when this heat wave leaves he'll do better. At least at cardiac rehab they monitor everything. He was on the tred mill for about 15 minutes today. Monday he'll start doing more, depending on his response to anything. At least he won't be able to 'fib' his way through as they constantly monitor heart rate and bp.

Stolen off FB. This says what I was trying to say this morning.
-The Mayonnaise Jar-

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day is not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and two cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and fills it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured it into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “YES”.

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things - God, family,
children, health, friends, and favorite passions. Things, that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the things that matter like your job, house, and car. The sand is everything else -- the small stuff.” he said.

“If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “There is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are
important to you...” he told them.

“So... pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Worship with your family. Play with your children. Take your partner out to dinner. Spend time with good friends. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the dripping tap. Take care of the golf balls first -- the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled and said, “I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.”
It’s never too late to be what you might have been.
“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”

I just wanted to look in for a few minutes and say HI to everyone. I have been thinking of you all and sending out good vibes to all.

I try when I get a few minutes to cuop, but before I can post someone, be it the dgkids, the ddogs or dh becomes needy and wants my attention! :) I love it, and will be sad when dgkids leave on Sunday morning! But in the meantime.......I must be picky about my free time.

Very well said MT!
