The fish in butter and garlic already sounds really delish to me, OK! You're inspiring with all you got done before lunch. I'm a slug in comparison. I'm looking forward to next week when we'll all be going to bed earlier and getting up earlier - and everyone will be getting out the door earlier. I'm especially looking forward to that last one.
I have succeeded in one of my DPCs. And I have worked with ds in his room. We are slowly working through "stuff" he has accumulated over the years. He is doing a lot of laundry too and has much of his stuff packed for his apt. I have also folded and put away 2 small lols.
I'm going to tidy up the kitchen and then I can officially say my a.m. routine is done.
Dinner is just dh, dd15, and me, so we'll be eating from the freezer, leftover chole? (Indian curried chickpeas) and some pork tenderloin medallions. I'll round it out with rice and a little naan and fresh tomatoes from our garden.
Sher -- and Harmony -- Happy birthday eve to you both! I'm going to spend my day being dmom's driver and walking assistant... and shopper... and etc etc... Hope you two have happy days planned!
s2s... ironed for an hour... watched another episode of Downton Abbey, plus background special feature...
Just about to go to dmil's and return van we've been borrowing.
A song for Harriet... Everytime I hear this I think of you! No time to find a link.
Just Google it --

Dh is on my laptop so I am on my phone and am very slow.
At whitepoint and have had a good look around. Things are different in all parts of the resort except the beach. Many paths are gone and new entertainment areas which are strange to my eye.
The lodge is awful on the main floor - too open and the concrete floor echoes sound badly. The dining room in particular sounds like a cafeteria and that's when empty. Apparently the noise is so bad, that screaming kids can't be heard.
The lower level is better than before, with more light and more room. There is even a great kids' room for activities. So there are some improvements.
Well came home a bit early from work with a headache. As soon as I had had taken my meds we were hit by a huge monsoon storm. Sweetie and I moved from both the front and back windows as the storm blew though. We have big trees in our front and back yards. We were looking out the front when a micro burst hit....these are hurricane force winds that last for 2 - 15 minutes. Sometimes the winds blow in one direction while other times they change directions in a blink of an eye.
The winds blew so hard I thought the tree would snap . Sweetie stayed there while I ran to the back of the house. I watched as many planter were blown all over the yard. Out door furniture was overturned. My heavy metal bench had been picked up and was pitched over. Cushions which are strapped down on the chairs were every where in the yard.
My three trees were really taking the Blount of the storm. I watched as my one tree was uprooted and blown against the fence. I called to sweetie to come see our tree. As soon as he got there the winds changed and blew in the opposite direction. It lifted the uprooted tree and pushed it in place again. Moments later the rain and winds stopped and the sun came out.
We went out back and braced and secured the tree. Looks as good as new. Mother Nature can be amazing.

Cowinkie - know the monsoons are strong this year. Yarnell is threatened with flash floods - no vegetation to hold the water back since the fire. Good news is that the first of many building permits have been issued and re-building is soon to begin.
We are back from a visit to the Dr. He says all of DH's owies are healing well and there is no infection. He took the drain out and re-bandaged with less dressing. I'm to redress this week and we go back Wed. to get the staples out.
We picked up some groceries and other errands as long as we were out. VERY hot here. Schools are letting out early or have postponed school openings for a week.
I was really bushed and took a nap in the AC when I came home - now I must put the non-perishables away. And probably should re-package some of the meat I purchased.

I feel better now with a restocked pantry and freezer. Picked up bits and pieces on special at Aldi to combine with stuff at home for meals that will be quick to cook on these hot days. Also a carton of their macaroni salad, a summer sausage, small block of cheese, and a few fresh veggies for a no-cook supper tonight. Yum.
Plenty of leftovers for me to have a good lunch tomorrow. I'll be happy to not have to leave the house.
I have a bunch of desk jobs on the list and absolutely no inclination to do any of them tonight. Tomorrow will be well within deadline.
I will clean the cat boxes, wash my hands, refill my ice water mug, and start watching an episode of Ice Road Truckers.
Once dh was off my laptop, I took it to the lodge and wrote my travelog. There were six people in the lounge and the noise level was such that I couldn't concentrate.
There was a chimney fire a few weeks ago so the fireplaces are shut down while they figure out what went wrong with the design of the fireplaces (they are the central core of the building.) Normally, not a biggie, I'd just have a fire in the cabin fireplace but I'm in the motel portion so no fireplace at all. Sigh.... Whitepoint is all about fires (the normal, safe, kind.)
Dh is out of town at corporate headquarters. They are about to wrap up contract negotiations and he'll be home tomorrow night.
Tonight I went over to dd1s for dgd17 birthday. Dd2 was there with the 3 little ones. Her other grandma and 3 friends were there. It seemed weird not to have dgs19 there. He will be home this weekend for his first visit since he left for college 2 weeks ago. We are tentatively planning a game night and going bowling at some point. Both are things that he loves to do. Even the 2 little girls missed dgs19.
Last Friday dh had to take his motorcycle to the neighboring town to have a 15000 mile checkup before he leaves on his 3600+ mile trip on Sept 6. We decided to just get a hotel room and have a mini vacation. We were home 23 hours after we left home and we were both wore out. It was hot and windy. I drove and he rode the bike. He needs to get a steroid allergy shot before the trip. He is having a terrible time with red, itchy eyes.
We received the bill yesterday for the fence and it was over $1300.00 higher than the estimate. Between adding 70 cedar pickets, 19 cedar rails, misc. and labor for digging up all the cement unnecessarily, it was a lot higher than I guessed. Dh is happy with the fence and said just write them a check. We both agreed that at least we had the money. Many years ago if that would have happened it would have been a hardship.
I have been staying cuop but just too lazy to post myself.
Today was dance day. These mothers are so nice. The first day a man brought a little girl and she wouldn't participate. They didn't come last week but were there today. He brought a book and immediately started reading. 3 of the mothers have little boys ranging from 8 mos to 18 mos. They are busy little guys and he never took his head out of the book to even look thru the window to see how the little girl was doing. One of the mothers told him that she noticed that his daughters feet were small and that she had a nice pair of ballet shoes that they could have. He commented that "she isn't mine, I am the nanny" (or manny), I wasn't sure which he said. Well whatever he was, he was the most uninvolved person possible. I heard him tell the little girl he would tell her mom how she did. I don't know how he can honestly say that since he was so in his own zone. Oh well, it does take all kinds and obviously mom is satisfied with him.
I have a few quick errands to run tomorrow and then I hope to have a lot of time to work on shelves in both upstairs bathrooms. Dh finally put up the cabinet above the toilet in his bathroom. So I was able to empty 3 of the doored cubbies in my bathroom, which means I have reorganizing to do.
