Hello Dear Ladies,

I know it's been awhile since I posted. Sorry about that. Some days I didn't even turn the computer on.

Spent too much time going through music on I-tunes on my phone. DH and I share an account so whatever one of us gets the other gets too. So he would come up with a song to search for and then I would remember one I wanted to find. Listened to some great songs but it did gobble up a lot of time.

Have been getting the dailies done, but weeklies are still on the back burner.

Work day for me. Think I will take a short nap, 20 minutes and then get ready for work.

Spent two hours 'off' and then got back to work.

Changed the centrepiece, door wreath and candelabra decorations to fall theme.

Emptied the shredder (it was a jammed packed at the vacuum was earlier today) and moved it from the dining room, along with my filing frame with my to-do stuff. (The table still has that to-do stuff on it.) Vacuumed both main floor levels, washed the floors, cleaned ds's toilet and swished the sink. Pulled the curtain on his shower since guests won't be using it.

House looks a lot better now but the kitchen surfaces away from the cooking areas need to be tamed (papers & books everywhere) and the surfaces by the cooking areas need to be cleaned. And the dining table still needs work.

Then the basement needs a quick vacuum. My creative room needs a major clean but I'm not sure that will get done before my friend comes. Oh well, it lets her know I'm not perfect. Wouldn't want to mislead her!

The office is getting awfully crowded now that I've moved my undone paperwork into it.

Been busy all day. Will try to post from my phone but haven't cuop. Dh had rehab this morning. He had lost 20# since they saw him last Wed. They made him go re-weigh with the nurse as they figured he'd done it wrong. 19.5# since Friday. Dr expected him to lose 5-7# on this 5-days of meds. Shows how much he needed it. Cough stopped, he can breathe etc. obviouly it shows from face to foot!

Oh brother drop box had some extra stuff that would not let me get on line with my pc so I had to uninstall those. Keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be able to get on line with those gone.

So frustrating trying just get access to my photos to share a few with family. We will see. Yea p/c is working again now it looks like it is but I sure did not like that addtil. stuff that came with drop box sort of scarry!

I got some iris starts yea for new colors in my collection.
Took a medium to short walk.
It's pretty muggy out.

Phew I was sort of holding my breath there for a bit.

Well, I did go back to sleep, and I have slept away just about all the day. My headache is gone, (I also took 2 Aleve) but I still feel sooo tired. Dcousin never called back, and I just really think this is the day she has to go have blood work, so I'm just going to try her later this evening. Scheduled termite man for next week.

Called her @ 3:30, to make sure she was still "on" to meet us at the restaurant.
Pause.
She says: "I KNEW there was something else I was supposed to be doing today. I feel like the worst mother in the world. I will be there, but I am certainly glad you called."

I am going crazy here, folks...
and...
I am to call her back @ 5:00 pm to make SURE she is up and about and on her way... because
she is currently lying down, icing her foot, and she took a full dose of her anti-anxiety meds... because
as she was working on thank you notes she got out the funeral registry book... because
she wanted to make sure she included notes to pallbearers, etc... and she came across the poem she chose to put in Daddy's funeral program, which always makes her just cry and cry and cry...
so... she's been stressing over the notes and stressing over tax forms due the 15th, I guess, and she is just about crazy.
Take out that "just about."
AAAAAAAUUGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
And I offered to come out and write the cards totally myself, but she said, "No, there are just some that I just HAVE TO do myself. Like I came across the one for (ddil's) parents. I just barely know them, but I would just not feel right if I did not write that one myself." I know she wants to tell them how much ddad loved ddil. But she is like that with all of them, and as I have told y'all, she is an EXTREMELY talkative person... so she is EXTREMELY wordy in her notes, too.

So I just told her to hang in there, try to do 5 a day, and think about how relieved she would feel when they were all done.
The tax stuff may make her want to cry, but not for the same reasons, at least.

BookSaver, I think helia's logic continues to hold true for you - you don't have tangible results at the moment but your attention has the purpose of nurturing a group, and is important.

Kathryn, over the past few days I've happened to witness the household of dd's friend as they move away and WOW what an amount of work. So it has given me a perspective on all the work you are doing. We loaned them tools (drill and jigsaw) because they had thought they were finished with those, and had already packed, then remembered that the dog crate had to be put together and an additional hole drilled, plus a crate had to be opened. They had been so careful with their planning and still found frustrations. Many items to charity from that house, as from yours.

lucylee, another villager suffering from allergy headaches or perhaps sinus is
blessed, who's been mentioning it in Cardfile Central. She had to go to the dr.

Great job on all, helia. Busy, busy, for sure.

More floor talk:
Hmmm... ... I asked dd15 for an opinion on how long it would take to vacuum the whole house here and she estimates 30 minutes. I wonder if she would be underestimating out of general optimism or overestimating because time s~l~o~w~s for her when she does housework. She says to ask, "You mean all of your friends have clear floors?"
Out of the mouths of babes. I'll just let that speak for itself.

Hurray for Mr. DeeClutter although it sounds ominous, I'm sure he is relieved to know things are changing for him.

lucylee, great idea of no more than 5 a day. I took Nancy's advice of 2 a day and you know what? They got done just fine. Heard from our church again as they continue to get trickles of memorial gifts, but those folks know their gifts were later so I am not stressed. I didn't have to do pallbearer cards because each pallbearer sent something else for which I was already thanking. I've only had one family to whom I need to send a second note, because they did something early and then more later, and I'm thinking of having one of the children do it, to be different. All the children will be here together this weekend and I think I'll just generally say, "Here, somebody write your cousin Mike; he thought of you." And set a stamp and a card on the table!

This was just chattiness as I take a break. I'll tell all my TaDas later. BBL

Good afternoon everyone! Add me to the list of folks with headaches. Ibuprofen taken. Tonight, I am going to let church feed me. I am hoping that the Bible study will start back up, but it may not be this week. I had DD11 last night, and it was not the best night. It started ok. I picked her up from band (she just started) and we were both ravenous, so Chinese was in order. Then I had to take her to the place to get her instrument and it was a LONG wait. She had homework, so I helped her work on that. She got very frustrated. When we had picked up the instrument (a xylophone), there was still more homework, which had to be done at my house. Not good. When she was done, we took a short video break, then I took her back to XDH's house, where she had to do physical therapy. Long night for her. Today, she will have to go to the doctor for an infected and painful toe. I wish I had checked the mail while she was there, because a package of books had come. She will get it Sunday, and I will have to insist she writes a thank you note. I should have gone to bed at a decent hour, but NOOO, I had to play Scrabble with the computer. I have a long list of things I would like to accomplish tonight. It will be doable, IF I can manage to stay away from Scrabble.

DFosterKitten Levity had his pills, but I have seen no improvement. He (and all but one of the other cats) LOVE the pumpkin the vet suggested for fiber. Of course, the one that doesn't like it is the other one that could use the fiber.

helia: Driving kids around and conversing with them is real work. Tangible results are produced in the long term, and often in the short term.

Today, I have been going through old emails and categorizing them, same for some documents.

Dinner was easy - leftovers for ds, frozen lasagna for me, Chinese for dh.

Dh noted the foyer floor had been washed. I was amazed he could tell (I had put away the bucket and mop) but turns out I left the lights on.

Dh is washing the dishes for me since I worked so hard today. Still more to do but I'm watching a Newsroom episode with ds first.

Tell you dd15, Harriet, that our floors are never fully clear, not throughout the house. With dog toys, teens, little ones in our play room regularly (for dd17 to babysit), it just isn't possible.

I vacuumed downstairs on Sunday. It took me 30 minutes to do half the downstairs - but I was being very conscientious, and the stairs are a bit of a challenge too. I vacuumed the downstairs hallway (wide), down bathroom, stairs, and the laundry room - altogether a mix of carpet, tile, linoleum (laundry room), so I kept switching attachments. Our upstairs is mostly wood floors with carpet in the hallway and dd15's room only. Eventually, that will be gone too. I tihnk the entire house can be vacuumed in less than 2 hours, though. . . . .I am more detailed in my work, so it would take me longer than dh, for instance.

Now that it is almost 7, I'm going to make dinner. Ds' room is almost cleared out!

Harriet, Refresh my memory two a day of what?

Dgson was here for 15 to 30 min.then his mom called needed his help but dgson was done w home work motivated bc he wanted to go play with a friend. We gathered eggs and fed the hens.

Laundry is going working on that. I got a salad chopped up for dinner. I have watered the front yard.
