I'm up have fed the hens and opened the coop door. I still need to take plums out to them.
Coffee is great today with the cooler temps we are having here this week.

From Harriet yesterday ~
Anyway, he said if a dishwasher doesn't have enough to wash off, it actually won't clean as efficiently.
Seriously, the repairman is claiming that the dishwasher has sensors that can tell how dirty the dishes are? As if it will adjust the water volume or something depending on whether or not it sees lasagne sauce? And won't spray as hard if the dishes are pre-rinsed? That doesn't sound right. :?

That logic would say that I should not sweep my kitchen floor before I mop it, because that would make the floor cleaning liquid work less efficiently.

However, my only dishwasher is my own 2 hands, so I don't know how the modern machines work.

I am very frustrated. I need to mow and the grass is wet from a heavy dew.

The next 3 days will be crazy around here. I need to mow. Then I need to shop for groceries. Tonight is a home HS football game. Tomorrow is the Fall Festival plus dgs7s ballgame. Sunday is dgs9s football game, dgd3s birthday party in the evening. Dm and her 2 sisters will arrive late afternoon Sunday and are staying overnight at our house. I am planning to fix lasagna to eat before we head to the party. In between all that is laundry and working on the house. It won't be freshly company cleaned but I can't help it.

Next Thursday I will take dsisil and meet her dd halfway.

Since I can't mow, I guess I will fold the 2 loads of towels that are sitting here.

Dsisil was released from the hospital on Monday, which was days earlier than predicted. She is at home recovering more slowly than she wants to be, but she knows that she has to take it easy. 4 years ago
she had some kind of surgery on/in stomach. It was a botched surgery that landed her in 2 hospitals and she nearly died.

I missed that Sunny's dh was in the hospital! I hope he can come home today. ((Sunny and Mr. Sunny))

That is an interesting dw quote. Maybe the salient point (I keep writing that. . ) is efficiency. Maybe cleaning dirtier (or more) dishes rather than less dirty ones with the same amount of water and energy is more efficient. I can heartily vouche for the fact that our own dw does worse with heavier loads of very dirty dishes.

I was down 0.3 lbs at WW, after not being on the program for 2 weeks. :?: Go figure.

Earlier this morning, I finished helping dh with pictures for his talk tonight

I'm off to work on the a.m. routine until I leave for lunch with dfriend.

(((((Sunny))))) + (((((Mr. Sunny))))). Both get to feeling better. I'm glad they caught it early, too.

It's overcast here, dreary, DH has the furnace on to take the chill off the house, and is chomping at the bit for this weekend when it's cooler and showers so he can build a fireplace insert fire. Then the dust builds up so much faster. Insert heat is so nice and cozy, but so dirty. He's excited to be saving on the power bill though.

Will visit a neighbor who's gone downhill fast, later today.

Wrote a pen pal a letter last night.

Have 4 story ideas. I'll start with 1 to see what "happens", if anything. Am still feeling slight burn-out. :o

Plan to read today and crochet. I know it's my Conga Friday. Perhaps I'll clean after my neighbor visit is over.

Am so tired today. :?

Thanks to BookSaver and blessed's dh for being bewildered with me about the repairman's comment. I always heard that too much food left on dishes may, at the least, result in particles left on other dishes after the wash (and at the most, dishes that don't come clean). This makes sense to us, so we scrape and rinse, and soak what's tough. I don't expect a dishwasher to substitute for a human being with eyes and a sense of touch, to know that there's leftover or burnt-on food there.

helia, that part would be true in theory, wouldn't it - you would get the most work out of a dishwasher (or anything) by leaving as much work as possible for it to do. So it becomes efficient by getting a greater percentage of the total work done by itself. (Doesn't necessarily get the dishes clean, but is impressive in the difference it can make.)

Ivy, maybe it will be a more light-hearted visit than you think. Maybe it could even make you feel less burnt-out today. Hope so.

Lilac, that's great that your dsisil had an early release. Hope she continues to improve.

Posting from my phone & my eyes don't like it.

Sunny, yes, sounds all too familiar. So glad this was caught soon. Dh has beeen on the enhanced fluid reducer for only 3 days this time. Sees his cardiologist on Monday. Obviously something still not right. Dr. Took him off most meds 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Sent dh to urgent care short time ago with dfrie d who was getting ready to go to FL tomorrow. His weed whacker caught & came back & his whole lower leg is pretty sliced up. Owee! Looks awful. His dwife was out grocery shopping.

Have 1st time visit from old friends next Wed. So now our home doesn't look so great to me. So l&&t out & ready.

Bookie! Your humor cracked me up. Thanks for the giggle this morning

We are going to go on an adventure this evening. LO has never stayed in hotel and recently asked "what is a hotel?". I tried describing a hotel "it is just a bunch of bedrooms in a long hallway that different people stay in for short time". He still didn't understand so hopefully experiencing a hotel will make it understandable. I would MUCH rather stay in a Bed & Breakfast or rent a cabin somewhere but part of our adventure is to solve LO quest to understand a building containing a bunch of bedrooms.

Tomorrow we will arrive at DSon's home and spend the rest of the weekend having some much anticipated play time with DGS7 and DGS2. Little ones grow soooo fast it is hard to keep up with them and involved in their life. What is important to them.....their favorite toy...their best friend....their struggles....their accomplishments. Although I want them to stay small as long as possible, I find it much easier to stay in touch with older DGChildren when they have their own phone and txt frequently.
