Good afternoon everyone! I made it to art class last night and started the needlework part of my project. After that, I did a massive bathroom cleanup in the master bath, worked on getting candle wax off the kitchen floor (how did there get to be so much?), but did not work on my job search. I also crocheted on my charity project.

Today, I should contact one of my job reference people and download FlyLady's list for the week (now that I can actually do at least part of it).

Tonight, I will go to the knit/crochet group, then buy cat food and litter, then groceries. Oh yeah, job search stuff too.

Things that need to be done that my foot is not well enough to do yet: Halloween bins to shed, cover swamp cooler (on the roof!), yardwork, put the sewing room back together now that the ceiling is fixed. Also, clean the sewing room.

I have decided not to go to the cat adoption clinic until the doctor has released me. The temptation to do too much would be irresistible. It's also nice to have a break.

Elizabeth - I'm glad your giving yourself a break.

DH should be arriving at anytime. He was 60 miles away about an hour ago. I am so very relieved that nothing major happened at MPB while DH was gone. It was a good experience for me to be reminded how much DH does each and every day (even though I only did a very small portion of his normal chores).

When LO arrives home, then I'll leave to pick up DGS16. He is working at his after school job but will be done by 5pm.
Then will meet head to meet K&K IRL at 5:30ish.

I only have dgd here now. The hens that were out debugging the empty house.

Dgd wants a snack.

Dishwasher has been reloaded.
I have brought up the calico Christmas bears and emptied one tote.

9 eggs so far today.

We made corn muffins for lunch.
To go with the other stuff.

Doing #2 lol, sorted junk mail, 1 bill, read on an e-book, been watching old TCM's with DH while I write from plot index cards into spiral notebook. It's sunny here, which is nice. Dated up a journal exercises pages ahead through Thanksgiving. Have a quiet weekend planned for "me" :D with writing, reading, snail mail, but for DH it's a noisy TV weekend full of sports. I'll manage to keep my sanity because I have a new mantra: "Turn Stress into Bless!" :D By saying that, it calms me, and I'm not Mrs. Crabby-Pants. :)

It's almost time for the evening news. :o Where has the day gone? :?: Have been so busy, it's flown by, but it's Taking Flight Friday, right? :P

It seems "quiet" here today.

Kathryn, I hope you'll continue to feel well today, less pain, and I'm glad the cane helps.

Dee, I hope you'll get rested as you settle down with your DH. It must be nice to be "home" again.

Will load and run the DW after dinner. Need to do yoga and some walking, too.

Nancy, the calico Christmas bears sound so cute. ;)

Elizabeth, It's nice you're taking a break.

Waving hello to OKay, Lilac, Lynlee, Harriet, Lucylee, CathyS, Booksaver, Blessed and any I've forgotten, too. Have a nice evening. :D

Oh, I didn't realize any meeting could be so quick! Have a wonderful time! That's right, Kathryn would have flown a couple time zones over and it's maybe not even dark?

I need to get in the bed early. I will be taking over for ds at his house by 8:20 or 8:30, so on the road at 8, with very little time before that to try to make myself look presentable. I'm certain I'll look dreadful tomorrow at the funeral. I haven't been able to think, much less consider my hair, etc. I just hope I can fade into the background. Against (probably anybody's) better judgement, dear Uncle is going to sing Amazing Grace tomorrow, with 2 other men. He is so outgoing, if anyone can do it he can, but I've just learned over many years that someone very close to the deceased is often unaware how emotional they will be when the time comes.

After all the shopping for a new shirt, caregiver discovered his suitcoats all had stains except for one which is quite summery. At this point, it is time to just do the best we can and move on. He couldn't have stood another shopping trip, and really doesn't need to think anything is going wrong, so this will be fine.

Went on a walk with dgd she pushed one of the Christmas bears in the stroller. Then we read the Christmas story and now she is coloring the shpesmshe traced of Mary Joseph and the baby. So we are having fun.

H. Said he would be working late.

What a fun time with Kathryn & Ken! I thoroughly enjoyed myself this evening. It was an honor to have them join in with the FNG. I wondered how my "two worlds" would interact with each other. internet friends and IRL Friends. I can tell you that my IRL friends fell in love with Kathryn and Ken!

Hi everyone. I thought I posted here yesterday after cuop but I guess I was talking to you all in my head!

The sun set at 5:45 this afternoon, that seems way too early, at least today it did.

OKay, sorry to hear your neighbor passed suddenly.

Lilac, here's hoping you, dgd2 and your dh feel better quickly. Also hoping you continue getting better Dee and Mr. Dee. Also Kathryn's back feels better and Lucy's dh feels better.

Ivy, I like: Turn Stress into Bless. Everyone has those crabby days occasionally, at least I do!

Hoping OKay and Kathryn enjoy their visit! Edit...I see Kathryn, Ken, OKay, dh and dfriends had a nice evening!

Yesterday I got the heavy weekly cleaning done and this morning I finished with dusting, emptied trash cans, etc. Then my cousin called and wanted to stop by for a short visit. Their ddog died and she wanted to give us his food, treats etc. We got a quick lunch together of sandwiches and tea and had a nice visit.

Guess I better post this and get some rest.

Exhausting but fun day.

Flights went well although we left Chicago late so arrived 45 minutes late. OKC is a small airport and United workers were obviously impressed with our priority tags on the baggage because our luggage was the first 2 bags down the chute AND came down the chute just as dh walked up to it. I was getting a map of OK and before I found that, he was coming back to me with the bags.

The car rental was equally as fast and we were out of airport just 30 minutes after landing. The speed limit is HIGH in OK, so we were at the hotel in no time. Slight confusion there (we were to be in the Inn not a cottage and were given a cottage but needed the Inn for wifi connection) but that was sorted out and we met up with OKay and family easily since they had picked the restaurant associated with this Inn (although a block away.)

We had a great dinner. Dh got to try chicken fried steak which he's never seen on a menu before. The coating was delicious and I was thankful I don't like gravy so could only have a couple of bites from the fringes. I stuck with a healthier salad with grilled chicken so I could guilt free snack later on.

Which I did at FNG. Dh and I had 'crammed' on the plane, doing the reading ahead of time. Although being on topic isn't a requirement for participation at FNG! We had a great time. Poor LO's cough had him going home early, though. He was fine all through dinner but starting coughing on the walk to the Inn (he and OKay were riding in our car so we could figure out where to go.) The night air might be a culprit.

We have an early start in the morning as we'll do breakfast and then meet OKay at 8:30 for a hike.
