Ta-das and To-dos Tuesday

Just ordered a hot/cold pack, paid 3 bills and deposited a check - - and didn't leave my computer. I LOVE on-line banking! I don't think I have been in a bank (or credit union) for about 15 years. We have 2 credit union accounts - one from old job and another that does loans on RVs. Have never set foot in the 2nd one as it is only on-line.

Time to get moving as DH and I want to devote Tuesday afternoons to exploring. There are so many neat places around here that we have never seen. So we will be playing tourist in our own back yard.

BookSaver, our library is called ______ County Library, so they are closed on every holiday and some of the holidays they get an extra day off. I would have loved to attend your event on Saturday if I lived there. I love cookbooks and would have loved to have seen the aprons.

If I was going to dm's this weekend to tackle the house, I was not going to tell db or dsisil. Since I am not, I have talked to both of them this am. They were both surprised that I had "gone there" as in confronting dm about the house. As I told them, 25 years ago I tried to get her to do something and nothing had changed, so I had decided to try again. With the same results. Nothing will get done and she won't talk to me.

I better get something ironed to wear and a shower, so that I can have lunch before I pick up dgd4 for dance lessons.

It's so hard when we can't control other people, isn't it? Just thinking about Lilac's dmom, OKay's dmom and dd and my sister. Call from nursing home was that she is still smoking and refused to change rooms, so they have her using a wheelchair after smoking but she still huffs and puffs moving it. Article from ATL legal aid society re smoking in nursing homes. (I don't mean to make light of our issues but it really stinks when they won't act as we expect.)

Need to leave soon for noon meeting.

Smoking can be such an issue, Twins. Dsil's sis has lymphoma & is probably on her 4th round of chemo but refuses to quit smoking. I was there on Wed. & they both smoked up a storm. I was only there a short time and had laryngitis (as if I wasn't already sick enough) by the time I left. I was able to sneak a word about the dr. saying Dh shouldn't be around smoke. Doubt it was heeded however. We went over there for their yard sale for about 45 minutes on Thursday. That's the last I've talked to her. Of course I haven't felt like talking or going visiting for that matter.

Have a lol twirling. Don't know if I slept wrong or this 'whatever' is settling, but my left back is really hurting today. Just still lying low.

There are so many neat places around here that we have never seen. So we will be playing tourist in our own back yard.

Very good idea, MT. Can't tell you how long Niagara Falls was in our back yard before we paid our first visit.

Dee, Yes, smoking can be an issue, especially when the health of the smoker is in jeopardy, too.

Our DD just started smoking electronic cigarettes, is cutting way back, down, and then plans to quit.

Hello Dear Ladies,

Sunny but very cold and windy. Have the wood fire going.

Spent some time with a new Bible reading plan. You read different parts of the Bible each day. Like one day is history, one is poetry, one is gospel, etc. I listen to the i-phone version of it while having the actual printed Bible in front of me, so I'm being read to and follow along.

Got dbrother taken care of and dishes washing in the DW. Need to do pots, pans and plastic stuff yet. Have the heater on the bathroom so going to take a shower and then start on the kitchen again.

(((Okay))) my heart goes out to you. It is good to be going to counseling with your DM. But in the end it is up to people to see things differently. Just do the best you can. You can't change other people's mind, only they can.

Had a little disagreement with DH this morning. He text me Sunday to pick up a can of pepper. Frugal me picked up the Great Value can. He says he can't stand that line of product. He actually can, cause I buy Great Value stuff, he just doesn't realize it. He always buying name brand. Anyway, this isn't something earth shattering. If a can of pepper brings him some Joy, that is really a deal.

Off to the shower.

Dear, Dear Dee: Next time you go to you in-laws. PLEASE DON'T sneak a word about their smoking. STOP in the door way and say, "DH cannot come in here if you are smoking. Please go outside if you need a smoke. DR. SAID!!!" and MT said!!!

Just got off the phone with meds mailorder. They have the WORST automated system. And the website screwed up, too. So I had to call and talk to a real person. Then I sweetly asked for a supervisor as they weren't going to take a Montana address off my records. That was in July!!! One time only!!!!
Sheesh.

Now time to go start lunch. We are doing very well at big lunches and snack size suppers.

My To-dos are Ta-das....The house is in good shape from the weekend, so not a lot to do. A little pick up in a couple of rooms; run the sweeper in living room, dining room and hallway; s&s the bathroom; run a duster around the living room; and sweep the driveway.

My cousin and dh will be here in a few hours to have supper with us.

Am-Vets were supposed to come yesterday. After reminder call on Sunday evening I put signs on the computer desk, box of books and bag of clothes and put everything in the middle of the driveway. There's no way they could have missed it, but they never came. I will call their office and let them know they still need to pick up.

Ds#3, our youngest, is 34 years old today. Can't believe my baby is that old! Where has all that time gone?

Sadie, that sounds like a really nice way to study the bible!

Back from a walk to the farmer's market which is only on Tuesday mornings and Saturday. The wreaths and other Christmas decorations made out of chilis were beautiful.

Hit three consignment stores on the way back. Bought nothing. Found a Coldwater Creek store so looked for my 'preaching dress' (I have an idea in my head but haven't found it yet) there since the one I often use is from there but sleeveless and I want sleeves. No luck.

Am waiting to see what dh wants to do about lunch. Eating carrots while I wait.
