Re: MARCHING ONWARD MONDAY
lucylee, dh did agree to stay here with our kids and grandkids. He even mentioned that he was going to sell his older motorcycle because who needs 2? Ya think! My biggest concern is paying for our own insurance. He is acting calmer so I think my being supportive helps. The moon is full, so that might be part of his issue also.

Lucylee, if your duncle says anything about your house, just say, "yep, you're right, we need to get to all that". And walk away.
I thought of Indiana tonight, I mixed up a batch of Christmas cookies from a recipe she gave me.
Elizabeth, I'm so sorry you got the notice, so close to Christmas like that. You knew it was coming, but still... good luck with the job searching.
Sunday I went to Sunday School and church. I couldn't stand around long enough to speak to my best friend who took off to the ladies room. I went to the store on the way home and it was packed with people, carts everywhere. But I got all that I needed, and came home. You know, I've been so busy I can't even remember all that I did!
Oh, I made big batch of coleslaw to take to church funeral today. I helped out with that, mailed pkg at post office on the way home and stopped at 2 more stores. Slowly getting done. Tonight I mixed up 2 batches of cookies but they're in the refrigerator. I might mix up one more before I go to bed. Tomorrow I can bake them.
I see a wee tiny light at the end of the christmas tunnel here...

Re: MARCHING ONWARD MONDAY
Oooh -- full moon! Maybe that explains my jitters. PLUS PMS. WHY in the world would I take on hosting this thundering herd while I'm in the midst of PMS???
Y'all I strongly suspect that I went through menopause quite some time ago, and only have a monthly cycle, including PMS, b/c I am still taking birth control pills. I am afraid to stop taking them, b/c I am afraid my hormones will go completely haywire without them... I know... LOL... how much worse could it be? But I really think I would have no TOM at all if I weren't taking them, b/c as it is, it only lasts a few days. That's good, but it's not good to stay on BC pills forever, is it?
And the full moon, PLUS dh's pending doctor's appt OF COURSE have him all stirred up. Good gracious. Christmas time's a'coming...

Re: MARCHING ONWARD MONDAY
Dd15 also had hormonal issues today, lucylee. Perhaps the combination is not so good, true. Think of a way to respond to any mention of the house issues that does not sound as if you are in the market for any help with them. I'm glad there's no one who thinks I need help understanding my house's shortcomings. Also, be glad your house is not so perfect for entertaining that others would hesitate to host at their own homes - the last thing you would want is to look as though you are ready for unlimited years of get-togethers.
Emptynester, I'd missed you. I myself have been so overwhelmed I've not been able to post much.
Normalcy, at least a little
Ta Das today include 2 loads of laundry done. Exercised for 30 minutes. 7 or 8 more Christmas cards (one was bday) out, errands run, including deposit of an estate check that lawyer was afraid the bank wouldn't take (might have insisted that a separate estate account be set up, because of the way the payee was worded). I was grateful for that. Also stopped by pet store and picked up pet food. Vitamin store for several supplements.
Early eating was good but later it didn't go so well. My full-moon and hormone-inspired dd wanted a very salty meal out and I agreed to it. Yuck. Feel puffy.

Re: MARCHING ONWARD MONDAY
I didn't post in PWYC, except for once this morning. I've been occasionally reading to CUOP, but not posting here.
DH went to the drug store, they didn't have the special Biotene toothpaste I use for dry mouth (because of meds) or my Genteal Eye Gel (for dry eyes). So he went to another grocery store, got those things there. He came home with mail, to eat lunch, since he's diabetic and needs to eat lunch and not skip it. I helped him put away groceries, but he said he needed to go to a different store, to get other things we needed, which weren't at the other store. Also, I needed Chapstick, so he got that and he stopped at the little store, nearer to our house and got Blistex, which is also very good. I didn't know that.
I've never tried it before.
I called DD, because I mentioned something in my letter to her, which makes me
blush, so wanted to warn her what I said, and she sure did LAUGH!
It was over an awkward moment I found myself in, it embarrassed me, and it was too funny, so I told her. I'm glad I made her laugh.
It's supposed to maybe be showers tomorrow. On Thurs. it'll cool down to 41*, the weekend looks okay, with on and off showers, so the weather's not too bad this week.
I was running another low-grade fever today, but am fine now, again. Strange. I had one on Saturday, too, but not Sunday.
Dgrson-17 had a fever Sat., too, but he and I haven't seen each other since Thanksgiving.
Oh, how I wish I'd been here, when Indiana was alive, but her posts bring her to life when I read them and read in the archives. Life is so precious and everyone here is, too. ♥ Have a good night, Everybody and have a Terrific Tuesday tomorrow, too!

Re: MARCHING ONWARD MONDAY
Oh dear, Harriet -- I definitely do not want to inherit this job for life. I may make it known that I expect this to get me off the hook for 8 years at least! (There are 8 households among our 30 people.) anyway, maybe it will go better than I fear -- things usually do.
My answer to any suggestions shall be, "Yes, we are going to get (ds and contractor friend he occasionally helps out) to take care of that." Maybe that will kill two birds with one stone, so to speak -- thoughts that ds doesn't have a "real" job, plus thoughts that we are too negligent with home repairs.
(((Hugs))) for dd.
