Good afternoon! Not too many ta-das here: the usual morning routine (including remembering my pills!); DC dropped at school; went to the library and renewed my card, placed a couple of holds, and got a book out; had lunch; sorted laundry and started wash. I need to make a DPC about returning a package -- if I get the right answer, I can easily drop the package off at the post office after DD and I go to the eye doctor's -- me for an exam, and DD to pick up her new glasses. Hey, look how accomplished I am! :D

Oh, blessed, I hope the packages weren't delivered -- or that your neighbor has a place to stash them so long as their DS doesn't see the delivery and picked the packages up themselves. I'm not sure which would be a bigger hassle -- misdelivered packages or porch pirates!

Happened to check into FB, which I do not often do, and came upon a message from a friend who is doing a cookie exchange this weekend. I need to get back to her and let her know I can't do it and ask her to give me a phone number -- I'd like to visit her, particularly as she's recently widowed, but I don't want to drop in unannounced. I've been to her house many times, but always when invited, and the only number I have for her belongs to one of her seven children -- I couldn't even say which one, though I'm pretty sure it was one of the girls.

Wishing all of you lots of ta-das!
I've got my country's 500th anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder, and Guilder to frame for it; I'm swamped. -- Prince Humperdinck

Ok, I just figured out how to sign into the charitable foundation account. They had data stolen at some point during the pandemic and I had to reset everything. Now I can get in and see what's happening with it and make donations online which is how they want us to do it.

It became apparent during the phone call with my sister yesterday that she no longer can manage the foundation account for us. It was her idea and I let her set everything up, but she was too confused yesterday about stuff and refused to sign up for an account because she wants to do things by phone or email instead. But they no longer send out info that way (because it was the donor emails that were stolen.)

Now, I'm going to take a break.

Hi everyone! My first TaDa is that I made it here to spend a few minutes with you. Last night's guitar lesson went well, despite less practice time than I would like. I am a very slow learner on guitar, maybe due to damage to my left middle finger, maybe just me. Playing certain chords makes me look as if I am flipping a bird. Some errands got run, one item had to be ordered. I have CUOPed. I have been doing software testing and am returning to it now. After fixing some tea.

Just after I left the driveway this morning, the cat got out of her carrier. It was never a great cat carrier, but when I bought it in October of 2014, I thought it was a good one. After a very stressful trip to the vet's office using the service road instead of the highway, we got there. I went in to the pet store next door to the vet's office and bought one that is escape proof. There is only one way in or out of it and to open the door there are 2 latches going in different directions that need to be opened. A cat has no place to squeeze out of.

When I got home I had a bit of a meltdown and dh suggested a nap. I also found out that some cats get hyper on "Happy Cat" which would explain last night and this morning. The vet will give us a different dosage the next time.

I started out with several "Ta-Da's" for today but they've tapered off. The day was interrupted by several calls between dh and me. Plus I had one with our health insurance broker (ended up we're staying with the same coverage). There really was no other option with us being down here so much of the year.

Dh put in a call to the Gastro Dr this morning and lo' and behold he actually talked with someone. They told dh that the NP would call back. Well she finally did about 90 minutes ago. She then sent me a copy to me so I could know what’s going on. He had hoped to not start this regimen until after the Ablation but evidently they want him on it ASAP. So he called the PA at our cardiology office. Once we got the list of meds he has to be on he had to call her back. Praying hard that this won’t interfere with this heart procedure. Had several calls back and forth and I was able to copy/send the info in a email to our friend he’s staying with. The letter from the Gastro office was Addressed to dh and his Bride. He’s funny even with all that’s going on.

On top of it all his DB called after his dr visit today. I guess the Dr has taken him off all treatment and said there’s 2 lesions now on either side of his brain. He’s given him 2-4 months. I could tell talking with dh he’s pretty broken up.
Sorry my post is such a downer today but I’m sure I’ll be back up soon. Now waiting for dh to call me back and let me know what the cardiologist has to say.

Wow, Dee, so much going on, so much to manage. You would be completely out of the loop without all of today's electronics. I can't imagine keeping track of it all. (Hugs).

Thinking about Lucylee, DH, and DMom today.

Elizabeth, are you working out of your house again? I know you have a different job now, but didn't know if you were going to an office or not.

Why does it seem like December has so many things happening all the time?

This morning was my trip in to the endodontics' office. There are 3 in that place and my appointment was with the one who had the best notices all over the net and the one my old dental office recommended. I can sure see why. They have the best attitudes in there. All patient and calming. I went with a note from my dentist for him to let him know if there was enough tooth for restoration... and this Dr. was asking ME what I wanted to do. Huh? So we talked about MY dentist needing the recommendation from HIM. Each was saying it was up to the other guy, and the other guy was asking ME what I wanted to do. Ultimately he got on the phone with my dentist and they talked it out, and we decided to go ahead. He said he would stop if he saw it would be not a good way to proceed with restoration later... but he ended up doing the whole thing. And I did ok. Numbing was not too bad, and that was what I was worried about... procedure is like having a jack hammer up into your head.... but not painful. The thought of it is worse than what actually happened. Hard part was I had a gag reflex going on the whole time. He said just swallow...how does one do that with big pieces of hardware in one's mouth?

Anyway, it is all done and this guy said once he started in there he was pleased to see everything would be fine with restoration and was able to finish. I got orders for what to do if it was problematic upon recovering from this, but I didn't experience any of that and I actually slept all afternoon. Wow. I'm so relieved to be done with this part of it.

House is a mess. Every evening I clean up the sink somewhat and every morning I make my bed, and that's about all I've been doing. We stopped at the little marketplace on the way home and I went in and got a few things to eat.

DH went up to the used car lot and brought back his big truck. We are going to clean it out ready to sell next time and he'll probably use it a little for this last (I sure hope) job. sigh...

I was thinking I could use some Happy Cat meds for people around here, until Cathy said it makes some hyper! I wonder what's in it?

Interesting bit of information: The dentist today said if I got in distress from the procedure to take 600mg to 800mg advil every 4-6 hours as needed. That's supposed to be the same dosage as the prescription strength advil a dr. gives you. I bought that for DH recently when I had him to ER after the storm and I paid a whole bunch for it. Wish I'd have known.

Congratulations Blessed for new little baby in the family. What relation to you is he?

Harmony — I am so glad you got this part over with and everything went so well!

We are worthless over here. My temp is just over 101, and dh still feels miserable too. We’re both on Tamiflu and I’m about to add some NyQuil to that.
I don’t know WHAT I’m going to do about dmom. If she gets dismissed, even if they transport by ambulance, I’m going to have to get her stuff together for the rehab center — clothes, etc.
Also need to open house for her housekeeper before Friday and call the GI doctor our family doctor is referring her to. They called me this afternoon but I slept through it (phone on silent.)
MUST make quick trip to Walmart tomorrow— pictures are printed and waiting…

Dh saying, what if you can’t do that?
Well, when you’re the woman, sometimes you just have to, I guess.

(((Dee & Mr Dee)))

I think my stand mixer is Sunbeam. It was a wedding present from 2,of DH’s cousins. 43 years ago.
Tomorrow is another day.

((Harmony)) what a day. Glad you were able to get this done, though. Relieved along with you!

Dee, at least people are talking to you and dh! Hope all "hands" know what the other hands are doing/planning!

((lucylee and dh)), feel better soon.

Cathy, did the little kitty do well at the vet?

Elizabeth has a new foundling cat in her house, too, she says.

My morning was kinda tough with intense school online classrooms for dd42's youngest. Stressful. Complicated. I tried to take notes for dd. We got zero done on the day's homework quizzes, which is a set-back for he and his Mom later in the day, but the teachers took up all class time and there was only 15 mins or less between each of three classes, so I let him go to bathroom, get something to drink, run off some steam.

I called her later briefly. She said she hadn't stopped all day long.

Then at home, dreaded phone calls. Also emails.

Dd24 came over with dstepson, who was changing her oil for her today. They didn't stay long. She was going out with the young man this evening. Her Dad gave her a few things to stock her pantry.
