So did the weather people get it right, kittykatt?
It never stops to amaze me how different things are in France, Frenchie - here, a kids you DS's age and antibiotics? A week home for bacterial tonsilitis, at least! I got quite the talk when I sent DS13 at that time who was asymptomatic (but had to be treated to prevent possible contagion) on day 5 of antibiotics in the week of final exams. But then we get 9 (reduced) paid days for every child sickness until they are 11. Never used that, as my job always allowed working from home, though.
Hoping all will go well with your family doctor, Dogged! I need to find a new one for me and DH, our current one is no good :-(

End of page 1!

TaDas
- midday routine
- clean master bedroom
- water flowerpots
- flipped lights to dryer
- started load of cottage blankets that I brought home

ToDos
- afternoon routine
- clean master bathroom
- start dinner

Hi, all. I am back again, large as life and twice as natural! I have been up for a bit and scratched the surface of today's activities.

Thank you, Kittykatt. With Daylight Savings Time, I am only 4 hours behind you. In the winter, we are 5 hours behind.
I do think that there's going to have to be a conversation before your DH retires so that he understands that if he is missing the deference that he gets from his subordinates at work, that you can't shrink yourself small enough to replace all of that deference, and that if he actively interferes with your work around the house, that he is preventing something that he actually likes and benefits from.

And that brings to the end of Page 1. :)

Monday
Cleaned up after dog
Gave Germane food, stew, treats and kibble
Showered/washed hair
Put pasta on to cook
Baked a piece of basa for treats for Germane
Wrote to Aosom to accept the credit
Let Germane sample her treat
Tried to sign into bank account: web site is offline
Put away dry dishes
Cleaned up after dog
Loaded the big chair box onto handtruck to bring down later
Tried to log into anti-viral: password not working
Tried to sign into bank account: web site is offline
Beginning to suspect the issue is Linux and that I will have to use my other computer

trissie I actually asked the doctor if DS7 would be contagious and if it wasn't a problem to send him to school (because of Covid I think we are all aware now that a single sick kid one day in a classroom can cause many families to battle a bug for weeks). She said something like "yes, he will be, but we are all somehow contagious, we all bear bugs and germs, it's part of life". As for working from home, if my stupid employer was a bit less stupid I could have worked today almost like a normal payroll day.

Doggedly I like your description of marital relationships after retirement. I hope you find an easy way to login to your bank account.

We ate dinner, DS7 ate a normal meal (at last) and had his dose of antiobiotics. It's not certain whether he will be able to endure a day of school tomorrow + it's not certain we can tell for sure before 8am (deadline to make the decision to stay home).
DS10 has arrived to the place they are staying, the teacher sent pictures on a special website, no one was sick in the car and they had a fun afternoon in the medieval part of the city.
Part of me hopes to stay home tomorrow. I also want to be able to have a good phone conversation with the HR lady for the new job opportunity, I need to prepare my storytelling.

TADAs
dinner ready
harvested 800g of fresh strawberry
DS7 had his amoxicillin
had dinner, helped cleanup

TODO
DS7's bedtime story
bedtime routine
re-read job offer
brain dump
send doctor's certificate to payroll (or bring it tomorrow?)
maybe fill tax form online?

WTG, Kittykatt.

I hope that the X-rays bring good news, L.Ann.

I'm looking forward to my doctor's appointment, FrenchFly. I can move forward on getting the shingles vaccine.
Bacterial angine is a very alarming name. It sent me down a rabbit hole and I was relieved to see that it is what we call strep throat.Still no fun for a seven-year old, but at least his heart is not at risk. Oh, I see the poor boy is bringing up on an empty stomach. I don't know if this helps, but the few times that I have been in that state I would chug a cup of water as fast as I could. When the next wave hit, I would not only have something to bring up, but it wouldn't have that awful taste.
Sorry about the missed call. I expect that they'll understand, because on a normal you would have been at work and unable to take the call.

Ah, what a lovely fantasy of a Monday, kitkat. I hope that yours lives up to it as much as possible.

Does your ds have any ideas about what he would like to spend his summer on, Lauralind? I think that last summer his main project was cooking skills, if I remember correctly.
Have you seen Tod Maffin's project to bring doctors and nurses to BC? I think that he did it for his own town or region, and then other towns asked him to do it for them too. Rather than travel everywhere and make that his life's work, he wrote out the instructions and made them available so that any town or region can do it. If you think that your town would be interested, google Healthcare Infusion.
WTG on mastering the piccolo. As someone who can't play any instruments I'm all the more inpressed by people who can switch between multiple instruments.

How wonderful that you are going to see Little I so soon, helia, and so many more dear family and friends.

I'm sorry about the no-good doctor, trissie. It makes such a difference.

You have had a busy day of errands, L.Ann. You'll be glad to sit down.

Bama! Did everything work out with your dd? I hope that your errands go well.

Does ds7 have what we call "strep throat" FFB? My ds used to get that at least once a year when he was young. It always presented as a stomach bug in him at first with vomiting. One year, he had it 3 times, and his pediatrician said that if he got it again that year, he would recommend taking his tonsils out. He didn't get it again, thank goodness. Dd30 never got it, and dd28 got it only a couple times. He could go back to school after 24 hours on antibiotics as long as there had also been 24 hours with no vomiting and no fever. Very good ds7 ate and got a full dose of antibiotics in him.
It's nice to see you large as life - and twice as natural, Doggedly! You are getting lots done.
Happy errands, Bama. And I hope dh's labs are smooth and bring good results. Good luck with your first of the month chores.
I think I'm going to walk instead of jog today, L Ann. I waited too long and now it's too hot to jog.
Wow, that's very stringent, trissie. It's been a long time since my kids were in school, but I think kids can usually return after a minimum of 24 hours on antibiotics, which could result in missing 2 days of school depending on what time of day the antibiotics were started - BUT ONLY IF other symptoms have also been absent for at least 24 hours. AI says that one exception is whooping cough. My kids were immunized vs. pertussis, so that illness was not an issue for them. It's really really nice that you get paid leave when kids are sick.

I'm really in need of mojo; I have a bad case of idonwannas. I've waited so long that now it is too hot to jog - 80*F.

Pulled away same crate and vacuumed all the hair DH forgot there...
Did 3 or 4 lol
Baked Tempeh bacon
Fed lunch to DD (Oh wonderful leftovers)
Cleaned Doggie's marks from front window
Took out recyclables
Talked to Dfriend
Paid online bill
Tried to find my meds... no luck

I have no wisdom with men's retirement except to say that it seems very traumatic to them (at least, to the ones I know...)

This is where the reality of retirement begins to set in. I have not deposited last month's OAS cheque yet, and I have to do that to be able to pay my credit card. I mean, I could if I took money from my savings account, but I can just wait until I make it to the bank.

Thank you, helia. You can have my mojo, as I shall be rocking in my chair with my feet up.

Germane doesn't do nose art, kitkat. I have fond memories of Inertia's nose art on the car windows.
