Re: Macarena Monday @ TDD - C&C
Good morning, Trissie, and thank you for starting on us off. Wishing all who celebrate today, a very happy St Patrick's Day
.
I'm glad you had a good phone visit with your DBro, Dogged.
Thank you for all your work collating all the addresses, Gma.
There should have been a comma after "broccoli". Or, OTOH, maybe it was my subconscious kicking in?
I'd read an article yesterday about the latest scandal involving food marketed for toddlers here in the UK - basically everything gets puréed together with a ton of sugar into a brightly coloured pouch - a bit like cat food. (Except for the sugar!). The other main difference being that cat food is spooned into a dish for the cat to eat from, whereas parents are just opening the nozzle on the top of these pouches and giving it to their toddler to suck out of the pouch, instead of pouring it into a bowl and either spoon feeding their toddler or, if they're able, letting the toddler use the spoon themselves. Of course, there's no harm in having these type of snacks as an occasional treat, but they seem to be forming the mainstay of some children's diets.
The end result is we have an "epidemic" here of 3 and 4 year olds who are obese, have dental decay and many of whom are non verbal, and who reject "proper food".
(I never knew before that you use the same muscles for chewing that you do for speaking!) And because toddler food isn't nearly as tightly regulated as cat food, (!) the manufacturers have been getting away with selling this expensive ultra processed junk in attractive eye catching brightly coloured packaging.
If you want to be truly horrified, the link is below: (as a counterbalance, it also has links to helpful advice on what people *should* be feeding their toddlers.)
https://www.theguardian.com/society/202 ... f-our-time
Another early start this morning , courtesy of Matilda. I can't wait for the spring time change, as it will buy me another hour of darkness, at least temporarily. (Of course the other solution would be to go to bed earlier
...). I do have blackout curtains in the bedroom, behind my pretty rose patterned ones, but Matilda jumps up onto the window sill and discovers it is in fact starting to get light, so therefore, as far as she's concerned, it's time to get up!
DH goes to the office today, and I have a day alone at home, so I would like to tackle the housework, have a good session in my garden and go for a walk (if the weather is kind - ATM it's 6C and cloudy). I would also like to do a little work on my dolls' house, and clean some more furniture and do a little more painting.

Smilelee, it was my bad , and a result of not checking punctuation!

Pock up my footprints! (Thank you, RRose!) What does this mean specifically for me? 0ff the top of my head: PUPA things out of place before I go to bed, PUPA tools I have used to do the housework, wipe down kitchen surfaces when I've finished there. In other words, pick after myself!
Email A with my thoughts and answers to questions, and apologies for the meeting I can't attend.
Make list of outstanding jobs on the house and send to Handyman A. DF PM, who has been mentoring him through some difficult turns his life has taken, thinks he may be ready to start some jobs again. (If he doesn't reply in a reasonable time, or doesn't want to do anything, then I'll look for someone else, but I would prefer not to do that). Off the top of my head, clean gutters and the swan neck on the downpipes where "stuff" tends to accumulate, clean cladding back and front and downpipes, and short return wall as well. Replace the bit of mortar that's fallen out of the edge of the roof (I think its called the verge?) , fix dripping kitchen tap ( new washer?), sort out cabinet that wobbles, fix garage guttering that's loose at one end and bending down. More as I think of them?
( Waiting for a reply)
Take up and hem those thick winter curtains for the kitchen
Book eye test for me
Find picture hanging equipment for DH
Sort prints and put in albums (this will probably be an activity to do on wet days!) WIP
Think about setting up Guardianship for F,J and M - looked on Cats' Protection, I need their microchip numbers, approximate DOB, colour and markings and useful information about them. Bookmark link with local recommended solicitors (also ask DF CW?)

Re: Macarena Monday @ TDD - C&C
Good morning!
Thanks for the start, trissie!
Haha, kitty! I kind of figured. I thought it was funny, so what else could I do but give you a poke.
We have our own nightmare of obesity here, which we're trying to turn around.
Woke up early. Today's main to-do is to ride over to Indy to drop G off at the airport at noon. The drive there and back will take up the afternoon. It's about a 2-hour drive, but easy and no city traffic as the airport is on our side of the city outskirts. His truck is getting worked on. I'll have to go back over on Friday and pick him up.
Clarifying my March Madness comment. G and his bros were over for the Big Ten championship for the college teams in that conference. Thursday is start of March Madness games. Don't deny it. You wanted to know.

Okay.. off to do some QT.

Re: Macarena Monday @ TDD - C&C
I woke up remarkably late this morning after staying up late last night fretting about the possibility of a big earthquake + tsunami while we're in our vacation house on the western coast of WA, 2 miles from the beach.
Bad use of time. A possibility, yes -- the big earthquake is way overdue -- but I can't control that.
WTG getting exercise in early, L Ann.
LOL at broccoli gravy Smile and Kitty!!
Safe travels, Smile!
Did you go for a walk, Kitty?
Thanks for the dancing start, trissie. I hope you're having a good day at payroll.
Yesterday, all the social time was tiring. Good - but tiring.
I'll share here, though ds and F aren't sharing widely because it's so early, but I don't think they'd mind a cyber community knowing. . . they are expecting!
I think F is 34/5yo. (Ds will be 31 this week.) So, we knew they might be wanting to start a family fairly soon. We're excited and a little anxious, hoping all goes well.
It's a beautiful day, clear skies and sunny! Currently 32*F. I'm subbing for an online class at 4:30 this afternoon but I don't have any other appointments/ meetings on my calendar. I do need to jog, get to the grocery store, and start making phone calls re: my mom's move.
Next:
- back exercises
- dress to jog
- jog
Later:
- s2s and self care
- squeegee and wipe down shower
- lunch
- reclaim kitchen
- make the bed
- start laundry?
- groc. list and menu plan
- Kroger
- put everything away
- 1 DPC for Mom
- payroll: prep to sub W D1
- set up to teach online - 2 screens
- 4:30 - 5:30 sub W D1
- dinner: leftovers + green salad
- after dinner clean up
- update health apps
- duo
- dh's chapter - 1 hour
- set up GC
TaDas!
- up; weighed self
- coffee
- some qt
- email deletions; weather website

Hi, L.Ann!
helia ~ how exciting! Congratulations! My lips are zipped!
I think I'd be a little anxious over an earthquake/tsunami combo. wow...
Been working on planner stuff which has been neglected for a month. Off to the shower. Departure time just got moved up. G forgot that he didn't work in the truck drop-off at the shop.
pooferoonios!

Re: Macarena Monday @ TDD - C&C
kittykatt, the fruit pouches started to be available sometimes when the twins were born. They were a really handy snack while running errands, one that was easier to feed to a kid outside home, or one they could munch on in the stroller. Actually I kept buying them long past their toddler age, as a car snack for longer drives, and we even had refillable ones! But I only ever bought those that were 100% fruit and it was more of a treat than regular food. Basically everything can be misused
safe travels, Smile*Lee!
How's DD handling the new meds so far, L.Ann?
oooooh, another grandma-to-be on the forums, helian! Crossing my fingers that everything goes just fine!
Home from work and I feel like... well, not very well! I think I am gonna lay down for a power nap and then attempt to attack the kids' rooms. I don't really think gardening will happen today!
TaDas
- morning madness
- sorted and delay started a load of lights
- morning routine
- DW unloaded and started a cleaning cycle
- work - many, many meetings
- Tesco for bread buns and granulated manure on my way home
- lights flipped to dryer
ToDos (after a nap)
- midday routine
- clean DBD's room
- clean DS13's room
----
- afternoon routine
- clean twins' room
- homework with DBD

Hi, trissie!. ((hugs)) hope you feel better after your nap. Blowing you some healing and house attacking mojo.
