Not to interject additional worries, but should you be concerned about your dd spending time with the stepbrother?
Harriet... yes... sometimes I just have to include my adventures in Mt. Ironmore... just continue to avert your eyes...
Today, I have accomplished s/s of one toilet and three DPC...
And they were ALL dreaded, I promise...
1. Regrets re: bridal shower/brunch Sat. Former students, groom goes to our church, but it is approx 20 miles away, I do not know the hostess, and I rarely have more than the most brief conversations in passing w/the parents of the groom. I have a gift which I will deliver Sunday following the party. Disappointing phone call in a way b/c I had to leave a message on answering machine, and there is always the question of whether one had the correct number or not. Anyway, I tried.
2. That call was interrupted by dbil's call, which is always aggravating...
3. Third call was from retired teacher lady, wanting me to come to ANOTHER retired teachers meeting, not the same group I always meet with, where our supt will be speaking AGAIN re: the upcoming election re: tax increase. No thank you... I have heard that spill once, I do not wish to hear it again. I am not in favor, and unwisely shared that opinion when I felt cornered by a friend yesterday at church. (DH sooo wishes I could master the smile & nod.) She said I could come afterwards, b/c her purpose is in selecting scholarship winners from our organization, but no, thank you... do not want to risk running into the supt again in this context, as HE is also a former student and well-liked by myself, outside of this context.
* sigh *
So aside from s2s and Bible reading, that's about as far as I have gotten.
Seems like I do have lots of activities going on around here much of the time, not necessarily today, although dgs is expected at any moment... but even on those days when I am busy busy busy w/ds, etc... I feel like such a failure b/c my weekly and zone tasks go untouched. Does anyone else have this problem?
