I'm the doctor appointment went well and was uneventful, L.Ann.
Helia, you're so right about phones and kids. It certainly takes a lot more effort on the part of responsible parents to monitor and check their child's use. I don't think G had a phone until she started high school at nearly 12 yo (her birthday is in September so she is one of the oldest kids in the class), mostly because it's a lot further to walk than her primary school that was just minutes walk away.
KitKat, yikes about the trees coming down, but how nice to have relief from the heat, even though it was only temporary.
Well, today certainly hasn't gone as planned. The clutch on the car, which had been slipping but reasonably stable, suddenly decided to deteriorate rapidly, struggling up the hills with a strong smell of burning clutch. I made it to church, gave it a good hoover a good polish and hoover inside, and hoped a few hours rest would help it settle down. At least when I drove home the burning had stopped, but the clutch is now so worn it was barely driveable. But I managed to coax it up the hill at a crawl and, of course, it was ok going down the hill to home.
I got an Uber to take Jude to her appointment, and was glad I did, as she has lost 210grams (around 8oz) since last time.
I've also managed to book appointments in August for both Jude and Matilda, and sorted out Freddie's Healthy Pet Club subscription (he's upgraded to the "Advanced" as he has so many appointments, but I've kept the Girls on the standard rate for now).
